Watching in the middle of the night after a long work week (and trying to catch up on a week's worth of fluid art!), I am first weeing the fundraiser during this video. We lost our family home in Connecticut during Hurricane Sandy (it had been weakened by Irene the year before), and money in our city was pilfered. It does my heart good to see you artists coming together for people you've never met, in areas of the county you may not have ever visited. I can't speak on behalf of all hurricane survivors, but I sure am pleased to see your efforts.

@@RebekahSue - I’m so sorry you guys suffered after Irene and Sandy! I’m in Houston and I was here for Harvey and the devastation is just shocking. They seem to be getting worse over the years! It’s a pleasure to be a part of this community that can give back!! ❤️

@@BrittClaytonDesign Do I remember Harvey... I volunteered with the Red Cross. My boss wouldn't let me take time off to go to Texas (even though we had a client who was temporarily missing), but I was able to work on reunification here via phone. When my work schedule solidifies (different company) I'm going to go back to doing that type of volunteering. (Edit to add: I wish I'd gone to Houston. It would have reminded me how lucky we are to have been able to replace the roof over our heads.) Helplessness sucks, whether it's because you've lost your way or because you can't help people find their way back. Yesterday when I did a dropoff at the food pantry - they sought donations for children fighting food insecurity - there were ten cars in line, out to the street, to get into the church parking lot. On 11/03, I'm going to ask my boss if I can take a late lunch so I can bid on some of the auctioned artwork.
