FOV means Field of View and it relates to focus.

I DO know what it means.. it means field of view and normally this would indicate the amount of area you can see through a set of binoculars at their maximum Zoom. In other words would you look through a set of binoculars the field of view is how much area from left to right you generally can see but it's slightly different in this case for various reasons. At any rate because your camera can focus and the lens can also Focus it's not exactly a focus ring but allows you to adjust the field of view but for all intents and purposes it is used like a focus ring. If you zoom in with your phone and find you can't get a clear Focus you can turn the field of view ring which actually adjust where your phone is capable of focusing and therefore it is related to focus. I don't know how you can try to correct me when you don't even know what it does. Clearly it is a feature so you should use if you can, but your advice was just to not use it. that is not a complete review, that's just lazy. Thank you.

Interesting telezoom for smartphone. I suppose you were holding the phone by hand and not using the tripod, weren't you, Ansuman? Would be interesting to see an actual fullres picture taken with this lens, because in video the quality looks good, apart from the usual aberrations given by these attached lenses.
