If your team is down by 4, the coach you want is Torts! I don't know if Lalonde just can't coach a closer, or if the Wings defense is really that bad, but WTF?!?!? Carter Hart damn near won that game, and the Flyers did the same thing the Sharks did. Big hits, aggressive play, the Wings looked scared and unsure of themselves in the mid 2nd period and most of the 3rd. We need a true tough guy/enforcer, and a stay at home, clear the net, watch the posts, defenseman. Great highlights as usual awood40! Thank you!

Every game the wings lead by multiple goals I tend to get worried. It’s starting to become a thing for opponents to come back against the Wings.

And that's why you still see the opposing team still with confidence when they're still down 3-4 goals against us.. no team is supposed still be looking confident down by that much.. but NOPE!..not against our Red Wings 😅 they know they still have shot to make it a game..🙄 it's pathetic.. they need to fix this ASAP! I didn't catch much of last night's game, but I'd be feeling some type of way watching that 4 goal lead disappear. The Flyers scoring that 6th goal would've been rough. I caught the OT though, so I know what happens. But god dammit, Wings.

Their defense is pretty suspect, but they need a goalie to make a few key saves. Reimer hasn’t made a big save his whole career. We need goalies

The last couple were a direct result of Reimer letting the puck squirt through after making the save. Those are unacceptable. I certainly agree the D is hot garbage beyond Seider, but they need a goalie big time

Awood your highlights are the best. I wish you did all games not just wins. Been hard to come by recently, but it's so nice to see the boys get the W. Reimer from goalie to goalie if you see this you have to seal that hole with your glove so the puck doesn't squeak through. Also the ref would have blown it dead if you did. Those deflections are not your fault. Need more physicality in front of our own cage. Kane your a beast. Let's keep it rolling.

Oh boi, Oh boi... atleast we won. Usually you'll expect a double digits score when your team leads 5-1 after the first period... not with the Wings this season. On the contrary, the higher you lead after the 1st, the greater the fear that you will see an even game at the beginning of the 3rd at the latest. But that only applies to the score, because it hasn't been balanced on the ice for a long time. I don't know what's going on in the players' heads, but a game has at least 3 periods and in all of them their performance should remind you that we're dealing with professionals here. If I knew that our expectations were low, then I would understand that one or another game would be given away for the better draft picks. But that's not how it is... I can expect that the willingness to perform is there, I can't understand why professionals have to be additionally motivated to give their all. If you're not good enough, then you don't have to expect miracles, but we have a really good team, why don't we finally start playing really good hockey???... Whatsoever... Thank you Awood for your incredible work again! You, Sir, are an expert at what you are doing and the NHL should take a look at your work and see how it should look like! Merry Xmas.

Not able to catch this live (all my "free" internet sources are drying up) but was able to watch the score on NHL website. Joked to myself "well if a 3 goal lead doesn't work for these Wings - here's a 4 goal lead." I can't believe our D is that bad. Usually, there'd be a firing associated with consistent big lead losses. I know we're still in rebuild, but this is ridiculous. Anyway - let's see what adventures todays team brings. LGRW.

Since Kane has been absent from the lineup Wings are 4-2 with 18 GFs 14GAs

and the 5 games before that, w him in the lineup, they were 4-0-1, w the only loss being in OT to the Oilers who had won 20 games in a row. Kane's absence in January was followed by a handful of Lyon theft wins, just as he'd been doing before the Kane injury; but their analytics and underlying numbers noticeably fell off a cliff wo Kane in January, immediately. and after the break, the one game he missed sick w flu (at Carolina) was the single worst game of the year, basically a dominant power play for Carolina for 60 minutes straight, so bad Yzerman came down after the game and yelled at everyone. Kane was among the best players on the team from day 1 this year. offensively, yes, but among forwards (esp the top 6) also defensively, by just about every analytic.
