Looks like a lot of pre arrangements needed to metal detect. The 3 weeks wait after Miner's Rights license granted and researching spots for rights to walk about I'm a little dizzy on the idea. Downloaded the form 1A under 40E and Miner's Right for later. Seems like a month or more of prep going back and forth to get the wanted areas authorized.

Gday Russell. Iv been using the new GPZ and mate she is a beauty. Yesterday i pulled a solid 11.6g slug up from 15 inches!! Iv only been able to get sub gram nuggets out of that patch with the SDC but not anymore. And you wouldn't believe it, I didn't film it because i thought it was a hot rock!! I was getting a few in the area and though it was just another one until i was right on it!! It was my first real deep and Im still getting to know its language and settings so I'm all over the place. But i know there will be more and they will be filmed! I'm in a pretty good patch and it appears to be untouched for quite some time at least. You getting all geared up for your trip in May? You must be hanging out to get there. We're all hanging out for the vids!!

l saw them priced at about $3400, re-released, mine is stock and once tuned in doesnt miss much, l was lucky to get a deep quiet signal and l spent time tweaking the controls until l brought the signal out, save your 1800 for now and try that first, you probably saw the vid l posted on tuning, they should get you finding gold until you hit your quiet signal, l hope you get a 4500, great machine and l wont be parting with mine anytime soon, cheers NM.

Nice one! You definitely earned that one! Can you explain a bit regarding the geology and what you mean by capstone and reef? Is that fairly common in the geology of the area to dig down and hit this capstone?

The capstone or calcrete is a sedimentary conglomerate calcified into a layer varying in depth, it is common in parts of Western Australia, its relative in hardness to concrete, often nuggets are part of this conglomerate, in this area it covered bands of ironstone/quartz reef continuing underground containing larger nuggets of gold, other nuggets or free gold surrounded these reef lines to various depths, some becoming part of the calcrete itself, cheers NM.

J Dean Yeah 5" into solid Quartz/lronstone, it was all part of a line of reef which probably continues down metres, there were bits of the reef sticking up thru the ground all over, my best patch for size ever, the ground and rock is dated at 4 billion yrs old, true story, its awesomely ancient, cheers NM.

nm-I found a hit yesterday indicating gold! in a quartz vein....I checked all the giant slate w/ quartz boulders in the area. and was getting a solid single! ive never had a go at quartz before? pick useless...walked back to the wagovan and got me sledge n chisel....that shit is harder than a rock! chipprd in chipped in pounded in tryd to break a slice of host rock out the way! kept chippin n checkin w the detector........then LOST IT???/ no clue which direction the chip went flying???? never could find it in the grass n boulders.....dammit nex time takinh a t shirt or something to cover the FLAKY CHIPPER FLYN EVERYWHERE......smelled like getting a cavity filled wondered if are teeth have quartz in em>? J Dean Yeah you know it when you hit rock, collect some of the quartz and crush n pan it for fine gold, if its present you might be rich, but you might need a machine, you could check downhill also for free gold, planning on leaving in about 6 wks, No cyclone for WA just yet but QLD lining up again for round 2, nice formation gathering in the Coral Sea, still 30c+ here everyday, cheers NM.

I sold the ktm to get the garrett atx....but I havnt popped for it yet.....trying to spin the cash up for a few weeks buying n selling vintage motos.....and been working on some bikes......becuz once I get the p.i. detector.
