This game is a technological BOAST from the Remedy itself. Throughout 20 hours of my walkthrough I have never shot a wheel of a car and I have never seen how wooden chairs break from gunshots. A generic triple A studio would never add these crazy details.

I could make 5 details by making a 10 minute video. I tried my best to fit all the details into a 9-minute video; you rarely see such water physics in games, so I highlighted it !

Awesome video! I like how in the dark place, the scenes Alan writes can be edited with any of the plot points he finds, even ones found later that do nothing to advance the game. So you can go back and plug in plot points just to see what they look like!

While playing through it, I was astounded at so many of the details I saw while playing, especially embedded in the dialogue. So many tiny things that people might gloss over but they are so greatly appreciated. Also if you listen closely, most of the shadows and taken’s whispers are actually reflecting on things they are guilty for, shadows of their guilt that they were surrounded by that the dark presence used to turn them. So often, you’ll here the taken ramble about something bad they did, or they’ll desperately try to justify their actions with an out-of-context plea

God I hope they release the promised Photo Mode soon. This game is so stunning

Did you notice the shadows & reflections? Like when you're at Oh Deer Diner look at how the lace curtain casts a shadow (PC with ray traced direct lighting on) and also how the napkin dispenser reflects from the table or varnished wooden door reflecting the window outside of screen (PC with path traced indirect lighting on) or how the vegetation moves in shadows & water reflections accurately?

Some other details about the game: Flares will continue to burn in water as well as cause the water to gurgle as it burns In the beginning when you meet deputy Mulligan and leave during the conversation Saga will radio Casey that she's going to check something out. When she returns Casey and the deputy will will have small talk, and he will make a comment about her being gone when she returns

Honestly, that's cool, graphics and details are really well made in this sequel, but the gameplay is tedious and the story is kinda... meh... The first Alan Wake is still the best and the most enjoyable to play, this sequel became quickly boring to me. That's really sad and wasted potential considering the game engine they made.

The game is a love letter to Lynch and King type films. It's not everybody's cup of tea like any piece of media. Not everybody is into Twin Peaks or King's books anyways, but as a fan of those types of movies and shows, I absolutely adore it and it definitely is one of the most unique games out there

Idk why I have such a love / hate with this game. It feels “dumb” to me story wise. Like the characters just keep repeating what I already know. Especially sagas section and the mind place. It also feels so small, the maps are tiny and half the buildings you can’t even enter. Visually it’s amazing though and I love the real film mashup they do
