I've tried a bare fridge but honestly the joy it brings our little ones to add their artwork is unmatched. Plus we have an 18 year old this year so we are aware how way too fast the time goes.

Make a gallery wall with frames, where you can put the artwork and switch it out when new ones are made.

I’m the same way, and I don’t have kids 😂 Seeing a picture of me with my great uncle (now deceased) held up by a New Kids on the Block magnet gives me great joy!! I may reduce, but I can’t imagine ever having a blank fridge. It doesn’t feel like visual clutter to me because it’s a source of joy 🤗

I love physical books too. Here's my trick for avoiding the clutter. I order the book initially through the library or on Kindle. If I love it and know I'll want to revisit, only then do I buy the physical copy.

My grandmother, used baking soda as tooth paste. We were visiting when my brother ask for tooth past,so I go in to brush my teeth, it was new to us,so we were fine with it, it made our teeth whiter and feel cleaner and fresh, but you don’t use a big amount, try not to sallow it, although it won’t you, I still wii put a pinch in water and drink it, it helps the sour stomach,or gas on tummy go away, you’ll belch. Really old remedy’s. Your right about cleaning, it’s great for everything you showed, it was hard as favorite. Good for Greece in cloths too. Have wonderful day.👍👍👍

This is very timely for me. I am going through our storage boxes. We moved from a 2-Br apt with lots of storage to a 36 ft RV and put everything in storage until we could find a house. It's been 12 years and we are still in the RV so I am giving up the dream of a house (for now!) and getting rid of things!

Great list of 23 in 2023! Animal shelters, rescue organizations, and vet offices often LOVE towels, blankets, and bedding donations. We love knowing our items will help animals in need (and the people caring for them). 😃 Also, I was inspired by one of your previous videos and switched out all of my dishes and any entertaining pieces (which I also decluttered) to all white. I really thought I'd miss my colorful Fiestaware, but I am LOVING our streamlined and versatile selection of dishes! NO regrets!! I bought a set of Corningware from Wal-Mart and it takes up a lot less space and is easier and less expensive to replace if soemthing gets broken. That advice was so impactful - thank you!♥

We don't buy books or dvd's anymore. We use the library system. If they don't have what you want, you can often request it and they will purchase it. For 2023, I am using up all categories of consumables before purchasing new. For example, I have 1-2 yrs worth of note pads.

I do keep my old calendars at least 3 years back. I have had medical EOB's or bills come in months (or years) after my visit to the doctor. I often do not recognize the doctor's name on the bill or EOB and my calendar helps me remember where I was 18 months ago. Everything else gets thrown out or donated.

Speaking of repairing things. I found a size 4T dress in a pile today that needed the button sewn back on. I had been waiting to fix it because I never could find the dress and button at the same time. I found the dress today and retrieved the button from my desk drawer and finally sewed it back on. Now, I can finally get rid of the dress since my youngest daughter is in a size 14/16. LOL Why do we hold onto this stuff? I am so relieved to finally be getting it out of my house.

The notepads! The terrible time is when there is Back to School! Even without school age children within the home I love this time of the year. Unfortunately it is has a terrible result with so many cutie’s that I do not want to use! So, I have started decluttering and with great ones send to friends when I do a ground mail. The pens were another but I have been just closing my eyes and getting rid of it. No accepting freebies!

Great suggestions. Back in the day I only owned a hair dryer and 1 or 2 different sizes of curling irons. As I've aged I don't curl my hair but put it up in a ponytail or a clip...much less management so I've never owed anything else. I'm a physical book all the way type of reader. My biggest start to minimalism was Joshua Becker and then reading Marie Kondo's first book really through me into gear. Less is so much more!!

Great list! It’s funny the things over the last few years that I thought were “must haves” that I never thought I could do without that after I decluttered I haven’t missed. A few examples: ice cream scoop (spoon works just as well), toaster (I don’t really toast and the one/two times a year I do, using my broiler for 3 min/side works perfect). Some I sold for just a few $$ online, the rest I donated.

I am anti-refrigerator magnets/display space! It's visual clutter!! And...nothing people put on their fridge needs to be or should be in the kitchen. Even when my kids were little, no pictures/artwork/reminders were placed on the fridge. I put a small framed cork-board in the laundry room to hang one of each kid's artwork per week, then it got mailed to a grandparent or aunt/uncle.

I made the decision not to declutter kitchen appliances, even if I only use them a few times each year. Two of my personal goals are to cook from scratch whenever possible and to preserve fresh food (from our garden and local markets). Both of those tasks are easier and more efficient with the appropriate tools. Over the last few years, I've purchased the appliances and gadgets that are necessary and created a space for them in our basement storage area. These items don't need to take up valuable real estate in the kitchen, and I know exactly where they are when I'm ready to can 50lbs of tomatoes, do a major food prep day or bake a special treat :)

One of my children absolutely just loves to actually read from an actual book . also have a few looks from my childhood that my mom kept and now my kids are reading. For the hair stuff my main go to are scrunchies but I have kept some stuff throughout the years that I'm not sure if I should hold on to or not but they're in a komodo and it's not inside it's actually put away.

Jewelry can become a problem. I decided that the way out of the problem was to buy only fine jewelry. I carefully thought about what kinds of jewelry to buy - what styles suited my lifestyle and wardrobe, what flattered me, what enhanced my professional image, what I truly loved. I searched for jewelry that could do double-duty, for example hoop earrings that were yellow gold on one side and white gold on the other, necklaces that were adjustable in length, several different pendants for each chain, smaller rings that could be stacked in many ways. I spent time deliberating on each purchase - was it truly a good buy? Did I truly love the piece? Was it timeless and durable? When you slowly build a small but wonderful jewelry collection, you won’t feel the need to constantly add to it because you’ll want to wear the pieces you already have and love. I organize my jewelry in small, portable, soft-sided organizers that can be easily hidden in my home or taken away in an emergency. 😊
