That 4t+3t+3lo was full blade assisted pre rotated on the 4t and 3t and the 4lz+3t+3lo were full blade assisted and pre rotated on the 4lz and 4t

@@simpletruth5927 yep. it's truly a visual issue, not a technique issue. Having done many many flips and lutzes myself, I can tell you that a full blade takeoff always means a full butt landing.

@@pamplemousse360 I get what you're saying but if it's not full blade then it's an edge jump. The skaters use the entire edge as assistance before taking off from the toe at or beyond the 180° mark. That's still wrong.

no one comes close to mIdori's triple axels. on any video i have seen of ladies triple axels landed in competition, she is always rated #1.

@@xVMNx in one of the videos I am referring to on ladies triple axels, Elizaveta's triple axel is rated #3 of the 7 women featured who had completed a triple axel prior to 2018. Midori is of course rated #1.

@@simpletruth5927 don't know about a 4A, but I have read opinions of knowledgeable people that Midori could have done quads. She had a leg wrap to slow down her rotations so she would not over rotate her jumps. She was the only woman doing a 3A at the time (Tonya briefly matched her in 1991 but her 3A was never as good as Midori's) so there really was no need for her to attempt a quad. Besides I had read somewhere or saw a video that at 14 or 15, Midori had suffered an ankle fracture from attempting either a quad or a 3A.

I've been a big fan of Midori Ito, so I try to keep an open-mind for others' 3As and re-watch this video over and over. Still Midori's 3A is No.1 by far😂 She could be the best, or at least one of the best 5, in male skaters' league of all time. And one more important thing, she had none of edge errors/URs/long run-up, and her spins and steps were also excellent. My favorite of Midori is actually spread-eagle to 3Lo, it's exquisite. The second favorite goes to Aliona Kostornaia. She does one foot turns, as if it's nothing for her, and jumps so high in the air. I somehow like Tonya's and Mirai's, too. They both have lots of power and guts in 3A, but leaning weired in the air and anyhow lands. I don't know how, but feeling more thrilled than stable landing 🤣 I love Mao's, too, because her 3A has no gravity and landing softly. But she doesn't have much power as Midori or Tonya.

On quads, Sasha is the best. She is a fighter!! I love the foot-work and counter curve in the entry of her 4Lz. When she successfully landed quads at junior world, some said that she wouldn't be able to do the same in her senior career, but she showed they were wrong. I know some complain about her take-off, but it's quads, they have to think about rotation first. I don't think it's so easy to apply a huge and slow triple jump to faster rotation.

Thank you for the interesting video. Midori's 3A is No.1 at the time including male skaters. And even now, no female skater can follow her high quality jumps. Now, Rika is No. 1 because the chances of success in the competition is very high. Mirai should be qualified to get higher GOE. Yukari lotates so quick. I like both 3A of wakaba and Alena even though they are only practices. It's amazing that Alena can jump just after difficult steps like Yuzuru. Alysa, Anna, Alexandra are very talented girls, but they shouldn't do combinations before they achieve good landing postures of solos.

Midori had a great 3A, but it's nowhere near the best men's of that time. This was an epoch of 3A jumpers, modern skaters are nowhere near that height. The best among the best was Viktor Petrenko ofcourse. Viktor had the biggest 3A of all time (and one of the biggest jumps in history of figure skating, some of his best 3A attempts were as big as the best 4Lz attempts of boyang jin and mikhail kolyada (up to 82-83 cm)). just watch this (and keep in mind that Viktor is 180 cm tall, while Midori is 145 cm) kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIDTgHxsdtd9mdE

Randomquakes Trusova might not be able to survive puberty with quads. She is an average skater, but she has quads which makes her score higher. And she cheats her quads, she doesn’t successfully land a clean quad. They are UR, they PR in takeoff and use their FB on takeoff. It’s not a clean quad. But at least she can “do” them.

Anna Shcherbakova was the only one in the video who jumped 4Lz. What an unusual coincidence (maybe) that 4Lz is typed with the exclamation mark at the end of the text on the thumbnail. Anna's Lutz just has unclear edge :)

Sherbakova's "4T+3T+3Lo": both the "4T" and "3T" take off from a right forward blade and pre-rotated 3/4 turn on the ice. The "3Lo" pre-rotates 3/4 turn on the ice. The "4Lz+3T+3Lo": the "4Lz" pre-rotates 1/2 turn on the ice and takes off from right forward blade, the "3T" pre-rotates 3/4 turn on the ice and takes off from right forward blade and the "3Lo" pre-rotates 3/4 turn on the ice. I've been involved in figure skating in one way or another for over two decades and Sherbakova has literally the worst jumping technique I have ever seen.

A lot of girls have similar issues even on triples. Take off from blade rather then toe-pick in lutz and flip is just a usual thing now. And huge prerotation on 3Lo in combinations is even more common. I mean Sherbakova's technique is not perfect at all but definitely not the worst.

Victoria Larsen - in practices at the lalique tourney in 1991 and at albertville olympic practices, Midori did 3A+3T. you can watch these on viddeo. Rika has done a 3A+3T in competition.
