In my orchestra, there are only 2 types. The first chair violin, which is super extra and better than the other and always be mad at the others who are getting the solo. And the second and third chair violin, just playing randomly things and never know what they should be playing.

As a tuba player who began with 10 it's awkward to see that there are people playing their instrument since they were 3 and are really into it, arguing about who's getting the solo. Growing up, I played violin for 7 years and cello occasionally. I had to quit about 3 years ago due to joint issues in my hand. This brought back so many hilarious memories. Thank you.

Lyndra Wulf You get amps and have 9 basses? I'm so jealous. My orchestra has three, and one is a grade younger and bumped up because then there would only be two of us and for our winter concert the other bassist didn't even play, so if the grade younger bassist didn't get bumped up I'd be the only one playing. And we so don't get amps. I wish though, we'd blast the whole orchesta.
