Thank you so much Melissa😘😘 for finding me and subscribing. I’d like to work mostly in functional art, I love to make serving trays, lazy Susan’s coasters, clocks, charcuterie, boards, cheeseboards, and the really cool thing I’ve just started playing around with my Art fusions. I’m glad you’re here and hopefully you’ll pick up a thing or two. Everything I show on a functional Art is also something you can do on a canvas. Always leave me some questions if you have any.

Thanks for the tip!!!! I use a shower cap to cover my spinner but the idea of the short cup under the coaster is genius!!!! I always just used to use a dribble of paint to hold the coaster down , but its a PITA to get it up and clean the drips. Your way is much cleaner!! TFS

That is such a genius idea I would have never thought of that or how about use double stick tape to adhere the nuso cup to the aluminum foil
@LouiseMcKayArt Жыл бұрын
Thank you, you don’t need to worry about double sticky tape. Once you spin it a few times, the paint will flow and stick that to the spinner. Just don’t go crazy on the first two spins.! Lol

Your videos are so informative and easy to follow - thank you! Your color palettes are beautiful! How do you finish the bottoms/backs of your coasters and clocks?
@LouiseMcKayArt Жыл бұрын
Thank you Dakota baby, for the backs of the clocks I just spray paint them with either white or black, matte color to finish them off. For the coasters, a sand down the edges, a little bit and then cork the back I do have a little video on that near the end it talks about .corking, and here is the link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jILXknxtoLqnfc0si=orcltkmHI6jch9fm

Clever idea! So, we have to make a mold of the spinner with the container on it. I wonder if one can use some clay to keep the container in place. Haven’t tried it.
@LouiseMcKayArt7 ай бұрын
Hi Priya, 🧡you really don’t need to secure because after a couple spins, the paint will hold it in place…
@padmapriyajames7 ай бұрын
@@LouiseMcKayArt oh, I was just reacting to how easily you put the thing with the container onto the spinner - like a hat! Assumed it was dried paint. I have winter storms spinner. So, was thinking of the clay idea. Anyway, you are right the container will stay in place with paint.

Hi Louise. Thank you for this video. I am about to receive my new spinner and am after all the advice I can get. Do you have any tips on using such a spinner with canvases? I have subbed to your channel. Thanks again, Alison Hood
@LouiseMcKayArt Жыл бұрын
Hi Alison and thanks for subbing! 💕 small canvas as you can just place on top. For larger canvases, here is an example, At time 4:28 of this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5TFeayVnLuqeqs I show simply using 2 same sized sticks to place the canvas on. (checking level). there are artists that offer enlarged spinner arms however, I don’t have them. @winterstromart sells spinners that she creates and there are others out there as well. I hope this helps….
@artwithalison Жыл бұрын
@@LouiseMcKayArt Thank you Louise. I just watched the full video you gave me the link to. Wonderful.💖 Sorry to keep asking, but if you don't mind, I am wondering how, or if, you attach the rods to the spinner? The rods look heavy, so maybe gravity holds them in place. What did you use to help the canvas not to move when spinning? It sounded like the rods were sticky as they made a sound when you removed the board and when you removed the canvas. Was it double sided tape or similar? Thank you, Alison
@LouiseMcKayArt Жыл бұрын
@@artwithalison thanks again and I think I did tape them to the spinner, but never to the canvas. Heck I don’t even have double sided tape! It’s been a while…
@karenavery36722 ай бұрын
I noticed the cardboard, I would imagine to keep the paint from hitting everything when you spin. Do you just have it in one side or on 3?
@LouiseMcKayArtАй бұрын
Originally, I had it on three sides now I don’t have it because I clean up as I go Good idea thank you, I’m sorry for the short answer, but I’m preoccupied with the Asheville disaster right now.
