Playing chess in the real world is much more eye opening to your real ability. I am seriously sus of players online. Real world I can play to a reasonable level but online random players will play crap opening then suddenly make a near perfect mid and end game. I think a lot of cheaters know not to win too many games and to not play the game perfectly throughout the game. Especially since the influx to online chess. I can imagine a lot of the young players cheating because chess is not easy.
