I think Brendan gave Doug the money because he truly does want the best for Ste because he loves Ste and he wants to fufill Ste's dreams. That's what you want to do for the person you love, but the sociopath in Brendan also did this because he wants to possess Ste. He wants to always have control over his life - and poor Ste he just can't catch a break and he still loves Brendan so much he's just hurt over all the things Brendan did.

When ste said to doug around 5 minutes and 45 second, "You with me?" Doug was all happy to say "yeah" then Ste actually said, "Good Boy." and turned a walked away like a champ A very Brendan Brady line and act, don't you think? I just noticed it, lol.

Doug's deal with Brendan is haunting him even in his dreams. He's literally getting into bed with the devil. I love Ste so much. Even though the bid fell through he was still so optimistic and cheerful. Looking at him I can't believe they had a storyline where he was abusing Amy. He's just so innocent and sweet now. I always picture him as the lamb that is stalked by Brendan the wolf.

Rewatching this storyline after many years and I still think that Brendan just wanted Ste to have the money and gave Doug that 'joke job' so that he could give Doug and Ste the money without 'losing his edge' and making people think he's gone soft. Doug would never have bought it if Brendan was just like 'take the money' so Brendan had to do something extra to be convincing

There were so many things that stood out about this episode...lol but i think my favorites had to be the cuteness that is Riley and Lindsey! Which l have nicknamed Rin! And most of all the thought of Brendan Sipping on that PINK ROSE! =)) Lol

Okay, Doug waking up next to a necked Brendan was funny as hell. The look on Doug's face was perfect. Glad that Ste and Doug got the place to start their new business, but hate to see Doug so scared that Ste will find out who he got the money from. Also now evil power couple Brendan and Mercedes, I can see them starting a lot of trouble for the village. Need to see what happen next now, been missing this feeling of wanting to see what happens next on the show. Thank you for uploading the show f

I am not Doug's biggest fan, but I have to say that I respect him here for putting Ste first. He knew he was basically selling Ste to Brendan. Doug knew Brendan's whole motivation was to control Ste. I was like, "piece of shit friend Doug". But he proved me wrong and gave up on his dream to protect Ste and this before he actually fell in love with the guy. So yeah, I ate my words and Doug proved himself a fucking loyal friend.

So an episode before Brendan used Doug to conduct a drug deal like the good ol' days. Joel went and mugged Doug, opened up the cover when he was alone, and pulled out those same green socks instead of drugs. Brendan wanted Doug to think that he was giving him the money in exchange for transporting drugs and not for ulterior motives [aka the goodness of his heart to see Ste smile~].

In the last episode, Ste said that Amy and Doug were the only two people to believe in him (Kieron's accent was kind of thick there, but he definitely says Amy). Ste still thinks Brendan doesn't a high opinion of him and is trying to prove himself to everyone, especially Brendan.

I think that if Joel was gay, Brendan & him would fall in looove. I mean think about it, Brendan likes him, he has a soft spot for him. He worried about him . . .
