Part of growing up is understanding why Brendan hit Ste. It's not because he likes hitting Ste, it's not beecause he's still part-way in the closet, it's not even because he wants Ste to be with Doug. It's because he made a promise to God/Jesus that if Ste pulled through after being hit by the van, he'd stay away from him which means no matter how much he wants to act on his feelings, he knows he can't. Ste probably doesn't understand at this point, as I'm sure no one would in that situation, but Brendan is doing everything it takes to keep his promise to God even if that means making Ste hate him

Because of the McDean storyline, I thought Mercedes was just a bit of a b*tch, but still lovable. However, she's become a real villain during this storyline. I see her every now and then in the current (2024) storyline but she seems to be on fairly good terms with everyone (outside of being involved in another affair) so I'm curious how they managed to redeem her?

Honestly, at this stage I can no longer ship these two. There's only so much abuse I can take, even for a soap. However, I'll continue watching because Brendan is so captivating to watch.

The "Kiss" between Walker and Brendan was so bad. They don't chemistry like Brendan and Ste.

The Warren and Brendan showdowns are always so hyped up and the have great buildup. However, their actual confrontations are always so underwhelming to me.

I get the sentiment and I'm so happy for Lynsey (she deserves this moment) but sleeping with the door open is crazy.

I understand that the comments might be slightly biased since this is a Ste/Brendan storyline but Amy was absolutely right. This would have been a great opportunity for the kids. She's always so supportive of Ste and was even willing to work out a co-parenting plan with him when he was about to move away long-term with someone he's known for a shorter period than she's known Lee. Amy and Lee would also be able to better provide for the kids on their joint income and higher pay than Ste could.

I hate how Brendan turned her into a villain for rejecting him and gaslit her into thinking it was her fault. I get being embarrassed but once the kid started piling on her, he should have come clean. That wasn't fun to watch.

It's Impressive how Hollyoaks have multiple gay/bi actors playing their characters at the time (2012): Rhys, Doug, Ste, Ally and George.
