Just stumbled on your channel. You are addressing your thoughts to women. I am a man and in my humble way I am learning a lot as well. Good bless you. My first thought was to send it to my daughter who walked away from Christ. Well I realize I can benefit a lot as well. Thank you.

1) read Bible daily 2) spiritual maturity reflected in daily life 3) reading scripture in complete context 4) walk in accordance to God's word, be not of this world. Actions speak louder than words. 5) what you believe & follow should be backed up by scripture. Beware false teachers.

I’d probably add daily repentance. One of the things Christ called us to do not just initially but because we live in this world and sin on a regular basis. Keeping a short account with God will allow the Holy Spirit to thrive in us and keep negative gateways closed… Thanks so much for these. They are on point! 🥰

I know that catholic’s do repent every to their priest, I think weekly maybe. But I never thought to daily repent. My brain wheels are turning haha Reading Romans 5 and 6, that was very freeing to me personally to realize it is faith over works. But also “obedience is better than sacrafice” I do think when we are continuing to focus on the Lord and wanting to be close with him in any way we can, this is a good way to do that. But I wouldn’t want to do this in a heart that is in bondage, because he has set you free. I do feel like the Lord convicts me when there is something I need to repent of. But I will say, there are also times that there is something specific, that I didn’t repent of, and didn’t think about even. But then days later speak to the Lord about it and feel so much closer to him!

Romans 5 and 6 “They will know your faith by your works” but that comes from wanting to walk with God and having a relationship with him, not just from focusing on works

Amen, sister! Took me a long time to realize this. When you read the Bible selfishly, for yourself, it tends to lead to boredom - in my opinion. When you search the scriptures and try to under what Yah is saying to the people of that time and place - everything seems to come to life - and you’re able to apply it to yourself on the back end of need be. Sometimes it doesn’t even apply to you but does to a friend or family member! When I was in my 20’s, I used to wonder (marvel) at people who would say, “ I read for hours! “ or, “I can’t get enough!” This was such a mystery to me and I always felt so guilty about it but didn’t understand. The dearth of good teachers is unending😢😢. Yah says that He/Yah’s breath of holiness will teach you, (too!)❤

I have a hard time struggling with cursing and I love Jesus. I was just recently pointed to parts of the Gospel that speak to this. It could be those people aren’t knowledgeable and are possibly new in their walk with Christ. I feel like I’m still learning a lot. If you want to help those people you should probably point them to the Gospel so they may read for themselves.

I was raised with parents who cussed all the time... And even though I don't make a habit of cussing in my every day speech, if I hurt myself or am surprised in traffic or something, They just pop out of me. I quickly apologize to Jesus and anyone in earshot. But some times the gost of our old man comes to the surface from time to time to time. Now being proud of your foul language and speaking that way to fit in to your peers is a different story!

@@HeavenlyMindedHomealso, what to do if your hubby is struggling and gets mean, mocks or emotionally, verbally mistreats you when you take your faith seriously and they supposedly profess to be Christian. I keep finding myself trying to respect him and thus I pull away from God to spend time with him. It seems to lessen the fights but it also causes me to be spiritually and emotionally weak so when we do fight, my flesh gets the better of me. Hubby says I take my faith too seriously, i treat him poorly (I am not sure why, I am kinder and more patient. I also dont hardly bring up his issues unless he asks my opinion but rarely likes my answer)and I am being self righteous or abandoning him and the family. I am only praying more and not always inviting him because he seems uninterested in joining and he says he wants to be the spiritual leader. I am homeschooling and stay at home. I am not sure how I am abandoning the relationship when I spend time with God when he is playing video games/watching videos l; I am prioritizing the kids and home. I sometimes do those things but its hard to have that much time. When I am close to God and ignore his comments, I dont need those entertainments as much to please me or “wind down”. He also misreads me when I submit or kindly respond or calmly wait to answer as disrespect and being controlling. I am very confused. I want to honor and respect him but he makes it hard when I do what God asks with the right attitude and it is continually seen as negative or I am doing wrong. How do you continue to grow in this and homeschool and be the wife God as asked you to be?!

So I had to let them go. I still text with my nephews & niece, but one of my nephews stopped talking with me. And breaks my heart. I'm assuming it's cause he's very close to his mom, and is listening to the lies. I pray for them almost every night.🙏

Thank you for sharing this biblical insight..had to listen with humble ears as we don’t like hearing where we may falter .. my greatest joy is having the Holy Spirit affirm that the choices I’ve made in life have been in alignment with His Word!! We are seeing some tough times around us that have challenged me to live out my faith like never before and have a mindset that requires a godly response and not what I think! Issues have challenged me to seek the scriptures and trust Christ in the uncertainty .. when I see glimpses of God’s grace that we’re walking together, it’s an awesome peace💪🏽🌷!!

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by struggling to fit in, but I definitely feel this way. If I mentioned exegesis or being Berean they would roll their eyes and think I'm being self-righteous, because the ONLY focus in my church seems to be getting people "saved" and *loving* people, but not having high expectations of digging deeply into God's word, truly shooting for a higher standard of being like Christ (like sexual purity), and the other things mentioned in this video. No one seems to think God expects us to aim for holiness living anymore. I'm discouraged and feel lonely and, yes, often wondering if I'm the one who's wrong.

This was a great video. One thing I've learned is that any biblical truth that comes from my lips, or any other human's lips...if it leads to another woman questioning her own thoughts, emotions, behaviours...that woman MUST put those words through the "God funnel", through prayer, Bible reading, quiet time, to hear what the Holy Spirit would have them do.♥️🇨🇦

50 years of being a Christian has shown me we need BOTH exegesis and isigesis. It’s very easy to learn scripture and how verses fit with the rest of scripture, context, background, etc. But if we avoid seeing “how it applies to me”, it becomes just getting full of knowledge. And scripture says “knowledge puffs up”. It leads to pride, which is in a couple of lists of “things God hates.” “goes before a fall” Ephesians 5 says Jesus presents His bride to Himself by the “washing of water by the word”. I Timothy says scripture is for correction. So if we don’t look for how scripture applies to us in our lives, we are missing the boat. Yes exegesis is important but if that is all we do, the Bible may as well be an encyclopedia to us. There is a lot in scripture about applying scripture to ourselves. Of course NOT picking and choosing by what we want to hear, but getting the “whole counsel of God.” A biblically sound Christian woman would definitely look to see how scripture applies, so she can grow spiritually and become more like Christ.
@HeavenlyMindedHome
@HeavenlyMindedHome Жыл бұрын
Absolutely... the trend we see most often is in complete disregard for exegesis... and that cause some MAJOR theological issues... so we'd focus on that first as the latter should come naturally. :)

Thank you for the encouragement, I've been feeling like I have to justify my behavior change and "obsession" with the Bible lately even to other christians. I know we aren't saved by works but that doesn't mean that I don't want to do what's for my own good and try to follow the word that God has given us. My kids know I love them no matter what but I still give them rules and boundaries for their own good! God loves us and does the same for us. Healthy love still has boundaries. I have felt very disheartened discovering that some pastors i previously listened to are not biblically sound. I feel like I have trust issues now, like who can I listen to!?(I enjoy listening to sermons while i do chores, etc) I am thankful for reading and studying the Bible or I never would have known. Not every sermon is gonna show it though so it gets complicated figuring it out like you have to listen to them for awhile before you discover it and I hate that.

I hear your struggle. It is hard to remain on guard, striving to discern truth from false or even more subtly truth from almost true - but alas we are called to do this. Hebrews 5:11-14 and Acts 17:10-12 and one other passage that's even better, but can't find it right now. We listen with a discerning heart and mind, and thus bless even our teachers if they are ever mistaken...

At age 1-3, you should not think "discipline", but "teach". Especially by your own example. Tell them why you do what you do. Say things like "WE do it this way". Children at that age love doing whatever their parents do. Most (not all) love repetition and rules. If they throw a tantrum they do NOT want a power struggle against you, they absolutely know that you are stronger and that they can't survive without your help. So they have other reasons: They are tired. They are frustrated with their own lacking skills. They are confused because you (!) did not stick to a rule. One of my daughters had really bad fits of temper at the age of three, she actually punched me in the face once... So I scolded her, I punished her etc... Until finally I found out that when she acted like that, she was not so much angry as sad because she felt she was not being taken seriously. So I stopped telling her off and instead comforted her (although she was screaming and kicking my shin and I really did not feel like being compassionate with her at that moment). She never became violent again, honestly never once. I'm sorry - the question was obviously not addressed to me but reading or Hearing the phrase " biblically discipline children" just makes my alarm bells ring so loud that I just cannot keep quiet.

It is refreshing to find a lady talking theology. I've been a Christian for 15 years (since I was 20) and it's rare. I have a degree in theology, majoring in biblical languages (Koine Greek and Hebrew). Sometimes I feel like women are resistant to using their brains for theological persuits. But I can't understand why. With regard to this video, I direct my daily thoughts and prayers for myself (as a woman, wife and mother) with Proverbs 31 and Titus 2.

This is encouraging. I have a certificate in theology but I feel there isn’t a place for me in the church as a well educated woman. Yes it’s important in our own worship and having a clear understanding and knowing helpful scriptures at the right time in conversations but it’s awkward knowing more than the men around you.

Very good. Like you say...compare everything, every teaching, to the Scriptures. Even the best make mistakes. I don't unsubscribe from teachers if they make a mistake. I just argue back, out loud, while l continue with the dishes. That corrects things in my head. If lots of their teachings are up the creek, l will unsubscribe. And it depends on whether that particular teaching is a foundational one, upon which all their thinking and teaching is based...or if it is a single, or maybe a side issue, and l can discern, pray for them, and move on to their next sermon. I will ask God to show me whether it's an important mistake, or not, and whether to continue listening to them. We have to be on guard, and discerning...and also be on guard against becoming hyper-critical and unteachable bigheads! The Holy Spirit will always help us to stay balanced. 🙂👍❤🙏✝️

Heidi ~ I loved this video! It was definitely food for thought for me as I listened. ❤. Here’s a question ~ Thoughts on young children (like 4 or 5 ish) accepting Christ as their personal Savior? 📚📖

I would add modesty. As I have grown in my Christian faith modesty has grown as well. Not that we should judge outward appearance, but our role models should model modesty.

I think you misread the 2 Timothy passage. It doesn't say all women are gullible. It says in the last days there will be people...who prey on gullible women. Not all women.

🙏( mine doesn't have a BIBLE EMOGEE 😮😢) Regarding the exegete portion. I'm confused. I may have not quite heard you. I understand that we don't pick n choose scripture and certain verses that we want to apply and fit into our lives to make us feel good; but, isn't the purpose of reading the Bible,to get to know God, how He has worked in the past, and what His plan for the future is? Along with that, how we are to behave & follow Him in the present. Don't we do that by seeing how the scripture applies to what we're doing, & how to change what we need to change? I'm not sure how to do that if I'm just looking at who, what & when the book applied to when written. I'm sure I'm missing something, because you are always talking about how to live by the Bible teaching , centered on Christ. Can you explain/clarify what you mean by not just taking verses and seeing how they apply to me. Certainly NOT a criticism, I'm just missing something here, I think. THANK YOU❣️🙏

📖I’m sure you talk in depth about this in other videos. I am new here. I am leaning towards a carnivore diet. I’m a Christian woman. Used to be very live food vegan oriented based on what I felt was biblical. He who slays an ox (in those days) it will be as if he slew a man??? Biblical reference… and there will be no hurt or harm in all my holy hill. And the river of life with trees of life on each side, the leaves for the healing of the nations…. I think it is beautiful, but how does it make sense… with continual sacrifices? I don’t see how God would be pleased with those.

Heidi, I have a QUESTION… We have been members of a local church for the last 6/7 years, from day one I knew this was not the church for us but I submitted to my husband and joined him…Fast forward, the church is being co- pastored with a husband and wife and they are both preaching as well as women elders, and a deaconess that is starting to preach. I told the co-pastor(wife) I will not be preaching or teaching because according to GOD’S word it’s not allowed… She told me she doesn’t feel that’s true, I gave her the scriptures anyway to back up not my word but GOD’S word. The preaching from the pastor self proclaiming Apostle, is so dry, scripture but not historical, there is know real depth to the message,(surface level at best) just not healthy at all, I leave confused, hungry and thirsty for GOD’S truth. I told my husband I can not do it anymore, I told him the weekly book club meeting of reading spiritual books by authors is not Bible study, that’s something you can only get from the Bible… I told my husband I’m leaving the church in search of a real place to worship… Am I wrong?
@Narrowway7
@Narrowway7 Жыл бұрын
No. You’re not. I did the same thing. My husband came around shortly after. We are to submit to our husbands but if it compromises our faith and obedience to the Lord then we always must obey the Lord in all matters. You are not doing anything wrong by defending the faith. Pray for your husband, continue to be a faithful and godly wife but your obedience to God is first and foremost. He’ll come around. I do not have a church anymore unfortunately, as we had a similar situation with a woman pastor/leader at our Church. They’re basically teaching new age Christianity at this point. We stick to online stuff at the moment because we cannot find anything else out there currently. I think this is a common reality for many true Christian’s right now.

A question or thought comes to me. People say search the scriptures.I’ve never know what that means actually. Say google or KZbin it . Taking the easy to find my answer isn’t really helpful . How many scriptures, those beautiful words we are missing, the chance to learn something new, a verse that we really needed to see. We should be searching the scriptures first to fast check google. That being said? How are you supposed to find want you need to learn?

Hello! Looooooove ALL of your videos, ❤️ thank you for being bold and speaking truth. I wanted to ask you guys about shema in your family biblical study book. I never heard of that as a believer of Christ until I read your book. Can you explain it better to me? I understand it’s a prayer or apart of your daily routine to pray, right? I’m confused hahaha, i read it’s also a Jewish tradition, or am I just alll sorts of postpartum brain right now 😂

Haha! No worries! It’s just a passage in Deut. 6 that is referred to as “the Shema”. We just practice memorizing scripture- it’s not a recited prayer or anything specific for us- just more important scriptures tucked deep into our hearts! 🥰🥰🥰

My list would start with prayer. Here in the west we're blessed with easily obtainable bibles and I am so thankful for them, but many ladies around the world have limited access to the word yet total access to God through prayer. I'm in my bible a lot, (KJV lady here) reading, listening, and studying, both alone and with my husband. And each session is prefaced by prayer. Ended with prayer. Interspersed with prayer if we run into a question. I pray often, about almost anything. If I'm not talking to Jesus, I'm talking to His (and my) Daddy. With an occasional "thank you" or pun sent out to the Holy Spirit. God in all His three persons is my family, my husband's family, our daily company, our everything. And thus we talk to God. About everything, including what His word means. You mentioned all the false doctrines out there, and I agree, there are a ton, but most of those preachers probably read their bibles too. I need the Holy Spirit to point out where a back-loaded works-based salvation is being preached instead of the gospel of grace along with exhortation to walk well - they can look very similar on the surface, but one sends people to hell. I need the Holy Spirit to show me how "death" here must mean physical death or it would contradict what Christ says there. And so I pray for discernment. Prayer is VERY important! Let's find another trait for ladies fellowshipping with our Lord, as well, and then you can change it to a list of seven. You know God loves His sevens! lol
