Fun fact: Stephen King has personally stated that this song was a sole inspiration for his 1978 post-apocalyptic opus The Stand. It's a story about a deadly flu-like virus nicknamed "Captain Trips" which wipes out a majority of humanity and the biblical war between the paranormal forces of literal good and evil in the wasteland aftermath. He even quotes the final verse directly in the beginning of the 2000 page epic and when it was adapted into a TV mini-series in 1994 this song was played at the beginning of the first episode panning over shots of dozans of dead bodies all throughout an underground scientific laboratory.

@@danielj5650 Luck is nothing. You've got to work to live a happy life. Sitting on your ass in front of the computer, complaining on the internet how depressed and lonely you are just makes things worse. Get up, get a job, get a nice apartment or house, a girfriend, have some kids. You've got to earn happiness, it's not free. No one is going to just give it you you. It's hard as hell. But it's the only way.
@TheLarknessMonster4 жыл бұрын
@@FadirDungeon Luck is everything. It's the little things, which many overlook. Maybe you go a week feeling nothing wondering why nothing is going your way . Maybe you live in an urban city and you walk the streets amongst people everyday, but yet feel alone and isolated. But one random stranger stops by you, compliments you and asks how you are doing. That one stranger could make that your week and that interaction was largely due to luck. Problem is, "Get up, get a job, get a nice apartment or house, a girfriend, have some kids". For many people that does absolutely nothing to curb their depression, loneliness or empty feeling inside. Maybe starting a family helps, but having a kid is a very difficult job for the first couple years. Also simply getting a job and an apartment doesn't do much to stop depression. I think appreciating the little things in life where luck goes your way is a good start for many people, cuz a lot of times that gets overlooked and when something doesn't go their way it takes over their thoughts.

It seems so strange to me that kids only ~3 years younger than I am seem to be ENTIRELY different people, culturally. Were basically the same age group, but the cultural divide is massive and obvious. We have nothing in common. The tragedy of the doomer, IMO, is that we were raised to live in a world that no longer exists. We watched the world we grew up in disappear before our eyes.The things we were taught are no longer applicable. We cant relate to people born before us because they were raised way before the tech explosion, but kids younger than us have never lived in a world without social media and smartphones.And here we are, raised to live in one reality and then being thrown into another. I feel like my age group (~ 21 - 25) is just kind of lost, culturally. Its a weird feeling.

I think of that memory as I sit in my room, worrying about applying for college and my long gone band. I want to play again. I want to feel the praise I felt of strangers cheering me on. Those things are just entertainment. You have your will, so you can be better. Stop worrying about was and wasn't. Worry about what is and can be. You don't need anybody. Essentially, nobody is connected to the world. People are just in their own cells of mindscape. Cell to cell. All you can do is look at them. Put the past away and just think. Take time away from worry and think. Every person has the faculties to be better, good, righteous, even perfect persons. I understand that a bitter truth is better than a sweet lie. The truth is that you are alone, just like every other person. There is no one to blame, but yourself. Your problems are your problems. Use your will, find wisdom, and fix them. Fix yourself. I don't want to have to watch you go mad in the Void. Life is precious. That is why Death is. Perpetual balance. Don't waste your life away. Don't laugh off anything. You will have more than enough time in the Void. Just fix yourself. No one else will or can. Message me pal. You're not alone. Voluntas Et Sapienta Animus Et Vacuus

Best of luck man. I've been in similar states as yourself. The best word to describe my life is exceptional. I've found purpose in my life. I've found understanding. Through the understanding I found peace. True peace. I no longer fear life or death. I fear nothing. I respect both life and death. I just want you to know that we can be better, no matter our situations. Whether you have muscular dystrophy or if I was molested as a child. We can't hide from our problems, because we can't hide from ourselves. For what it is worth, I love you. I'll have you in my thoughts, brother.

you can make this song sound ominous, but it doesn't sound doom and gloom. Despite everything, the groove is there and that cowbell is killing it

So is this channel like, “dark” songs through the ears of a depressed person, or are there actual hardcore-sad songs? Alice In Chains’ Nutshell was the closest I could find to a true depressing song. Btw, DFTR is one of my favorite songs of all time - depressed 19 yo

Erik Frost as someone who has MDD (major depressive disorder) this is how memories are, at least for me, distant slow and darkened feels like something over it making it more vague.
@Avo79774 жыл бұрын
@@aliceremley1515 Can you elaborate?
@aliceremley15154 жыл бұрын
Avozij sure, in a way I do hear things like this mainly when I’m just thinking kind of like zoning out but still hearing listening and understanding but too lost in thought to really react or respond, so when I look back it feels distant. Yesterday feels like months ago just distant like my life’s on autopilot. Subconsciously controlling myself while I just think and think while being sad just barley getting through the day, even when I’m home it’s the same I get home walk to my room turn on my music and sit until I go to bed, cut my wrists with thoughtlessness I just do it feeling sad without reason. I’m really sorry if this doesn’t make sense, it’s hard to explain depression with the case I have
