scoring hasn't really been balanced. and defensive effort have been dubious. hence goalie wins. LAK was one of the worst d performances all year, and Edmonton was Edmonton in that game.

Geez awood - 232 views in the first 19 minutes! You're a Rockstar! A few things. Is Edvinsson destined to be a NHL All-Star Dman? Every game I am able to see him he just looks better and more comfortable. So Seider, Edvinnson, Johansson, and in the not too distant future, Sandin Pellikka. That's going to be a good start of a defensive core. I'm really happy to see Soderblom working out - another point for him tonight. More great goaltending. Lots of excitement on this team. LGRW!

Edvinson looks better because Johansson is a stud and covers for his mistakes, it's allowed him to be more aggressive offensively. You can thank mclellen for keeping Johansson up and not shelving him like uncle fester did. Oh yeah, and trade kane.

​@bradmaguire9611 Edvinsson has a +13 +/- this year. The highest on the team. By a wide margin. Teams don't score on us when Simon in particular is on the ice. Johansson has a -1 +/- so if anything Johansson has brought down Simon's play. However stats can't show how well Johansson defended McDavid the other night, and also I think personally Albert is a fantastic defender overall.

@alexbrown4426 right, so you're agreeing with me.🤣🤣🤣 because if Johansson is a great defender then logically it means it gives simon more opportunities to be more aggressive offensively. Also let's not forget who Albert was paired with before mclellen showed up and who simon was paired with, seider, before mclellen showed up. We can argue about metrics all we want but majority of these metrics are based off of a sub par .500 hockey club, let's see where they are at years end. And the eye test tells me Johansson is a better d dman than edvinson, he moves the puck much more quickly, and keeps his feet moving while having a good stick a la the mcdavid play the kucherov play etc..., maybe that's why when mclellen was asked about edvinsons offensive abilities he simply said it's his feet that put him in a good position, in other words keep moving your feet big guy, whereas when he was asked about Johansson he said he is a miracle and he stays up because I have a say in him staying up. I trust the coach and my eyes over metrics which can lie.

2:57 Right in the plums! Sometimes early pressure like that will really help get a goalie dialled into a game and it showed here from Talbot. The whole team looked solid.

sv % the last 5 games is just shy of .960 last 3 or 4 has been the goalie win portion of the schedule. PK has also been good lately, and the top line trio had been very good - till tonight when their line got pretty well dominated. one has to hope that all that has been working during these 5 games continues working once the injured players return, and that these parts of the team do not let up when the lineup is back to full strength. imagine 2 dynamic dangerous scoring lines, a great power play, a good penalty kill, solid defense, and really good goaltending, all at once.

Defense looked great this game. They looked strong and stable, winning battles against the boards. FINALLY they were using the air to clear pucks and relieve pressure. No more moving backwards and making those dinky backhand clearing attempts.

Another W. A lot is going right but the shots against is unsustainable to keep the Ws coming. Kids are playing and playing well. Something we didn't see till Todd got here. But I don't trust the goalies to stop 40 every night. Nor should a goalie be expected to. Keep the Ws coming but tighten up and get soa down to 30.

Did you even watch the game? Calgary had one, ONE! even strength shot in the third. Their other eight shots came on the PP and the PP was two straight gifts from the refs. The wings didn’t have a PP in the game. Calgary had looks but they weren’t good looks. Go look at the shot chart. 25’ shots with no traffic. Bad angles/low shooting percentages. So that tells me the Wings kept them out of the middle of the ice and let them shoot to their hearts delight in the fringes of the ice.

Kasper hooking call was soft. The trip on Kadri was a trip but the mfer dove. Both should’ve gone to the box. Then a no call interference to Larkin when he would’ve gotten a breakaway. Not long after that Kadri interfered with Larkin along the boards and cross checks him with no call. I’m fine with no calls and letting players play but once the ticky-tacky 💩 gets called then it better be called both ways.
