Your notating game is on point Sam. lol. My underlining game is shit ----^-----^----^---- lol. Excellent video, Of Cattle and Men has been added to my Amazon cart. That book sounds like it could rent space in my head for months. Happy New Year.

@@blacknbluecollarreader I use the edge of my sticky tabs to underline so it's straight, cuz I wouldn't be able to handle squiggly lines lol I hope you love Of Cattle and Men and hny to you too!

I did a double take and had to rewind when you said Leeds and I’ve just realised the hotel in question ‘The Queens’ is one I walk past on my commute into work a few days a week, and also where we have our annual works Christmas party🤯 I’m definitely going to have to read that play now! Happy New Year and I hope 2025 brings you lots of good health, wealth and happiness Sam❤

Oh my gosh, small world! The brutality of the play will probably juxtapose that much more against the luxury/extravagance of the hotel if you've been there before!! Thank you for being here and thank you for the kinds new years wishes :,) I hope you have a wonderful 2025 ~ᐠ( ᐢ ᵕ ᐢ )ᐟ

hi hi love this vid so much, appreciated you reading the quotes / showing the pages. I want to read more weird books this year! my faves were I Who Have Never Known Men (haha did we all read it this year? 😅 ^), Whalefall by Daniel Kraus, Several People are Typing and Finna 💕 hny!

I'm so glad you like hearing a little from some of the books! I love including them cuz I can explain what a book is about and why I liked it, but none of that really matters if you don't vibe with the writing imo. Omg yay so happy yr jumping on the weird train. 2024 was the year of I Who Have Never Known Men, I've seen it on so many people's best of lists!! I really gotta get to it. I've had Several People Are Typing on my physical TBR for like 2 years now, I really gotta get to that too!! Hny to you too and thanks for being here (˶ᐢᗜᐢ˶)

@ aw thanks! I’m randomly obsessed with office/retail workplace stories, I have no idea why I like them so much! I’m a carpenter so maybe because the work is so different… I also loved Finna and I Hope this Finds You Well. thanks for all your suggestions, you’ve convinced me on Sex Goblin for sure 👹 can’t wait for more vids! xox

I have Hikaru and My Broken Mariko, but haven't gotten to them yet. Found Miranda July because of this channel and 100%, the audiobook is the way to go. I Who Have Never Known Men (Jacqueline Harpman) is the best book I've read in 2024. Bonding was very good. Garden was something I will not forget. The First Day of Spring (Nancy Tucker) is a book I think you'd like. Domu: A Child's Dream (Katsuhiro Otomo) is being reprinted (finally!!). I started off the new year with 2 DNF's. Dark Places (Gillian Flynn) is up next. Dorohedoro season 2.....soon?

Hikaru is so much fun, I hope you enjoy it. I'll have to check out My Broken Mariko and Domu: a Child's Dream! I think I'll have to read I Who Have Never Known Men, I have been hearing nothing but rave reviews. I think I added The First Day of Spring to my TBR already, but have yet to get to it. I enjoyed Dark Places, but I read it probably like 10 years ago. I have been hearing whispers of a Dorohedoro season 2 coming!!! Would be fab if true.

It's soooo good and surprisingly short! Really incredible how it packs such a punch with so few pages.

Hold on the robot in Annie Bot is "inspired" on a black woman(the exwife) but she's white?I feel like that may add a layer of meaning. Very intrigued by that book but I feel like it's gonna make me very angry,wich is a feeling I chase in media but usually leaves me feeling empty after. Anyways,great selection. My TBR is always full after your videos. edit:I talk to robots/AI very politely,I'm not totally sure they can't develop the artificial equivalent of feelings
@superblomper19 күн бұрын
I know it is so effed!!!! That's why I was like I have so much to discuss about this!! Annie Bot will definitely make you angry.... I also talk politely to AI because it scares me LOL Hope you have added some goodies to yr TBR (˶ᐢᗜᐢ˶)
