3 rules of thumb for offering advice in Unicorn Overlord; 1. If you critique a certain matchup always provide timecode of that matchup or I won't take the advice because I simply have no way of understanding it. (Context) 2. If you are offering a universal tip for a class/unit type/etc. Try to clearly state that so I'm in the right frame of mind and not wondering if the first rule of thumb was addressed or not. 3. And Double check and playtest your tip, make sure that it is accurate to your knowledge and if you're unsure you should say so. Too many state their "I think" in a declarative statement which can be frustrating for me because it's impossible to parse from those who actually know versus have a hypothesis.

58:20 so I believe what happens here is that, when you activate an assist of some kind (magic assist or heal assist) it re-rolls the RNG for the fight. Fran was probably doing more dodging in the no-assist RNG outcome or something. It's definitely counterintuitive and doesn't make a ton of sense, this game is amazing but I wish that mechanic didn't work like that. Assists re-rolling the RNG just leads to outcomes that render the assists completely useless sometimes.

I think people think I don't understand it's because of the re-roll, I do, I'm just constantly surprised that it so consistently ends up being worse in this point of the game, making assists really hard to utilize. I've come to understand that this is more common against high evasion groups because of the many variables of dodge tanking.

The reason why magical assist consistently makes it worse is that you wait for a good roll on damage and evasions before starting the fight, so when you add the magical assist it rerolls these values, usually into something worse since you were already rolling for the best outcome beforehand.

One of biggest problem on this map - you have only 1 garrison. So you need lead your reinforcments from initial garrison.

It's a frame of mind. Save the valor for when you need it and then all of a sudden the map is done and you didn't use it cause you were saving it for the "oh shit" moment. It's the same reason I end JRPG's with ALL the items still. Get used to it is what I'm saying. I use Valor when the game necessitates it's use. Many will disagree on when that necessity presents itself but if it bothers you prepare yourself to be bothered my friend. I play my way, no other way. My brain chemistry isn't changing haha.

@@AnalogVernacular I don't particularly mind, it happens to me often as well (i finished my first BG3 run with 8 elixirs of cloud giant strenght in the bag). I just thought it was a bit weird because things were heating up a bit and the urge to make a little joke got the best of me.
