We have incredible fishing in the Northwest (as do the Rocky Mountain States) but we always get ignored by all the fishing shows who focus so heavily on the South and Midwest, come here and fish for Salmon, Steelhead, multiple kinds of Trout and Char, Striper, Sturgeon and ocean fish galore.

You don’t want them to show off how good the fishing is up there , I live in Florida and everywhere the fishing shows fish at the spot gets trashed and overfished. I love the fishing shows just as much as everyone else but the people that they bring in aren’t always great for your fishing spots .
@CatsPajamas232 жыл бұрын
I was thinking"steelhead trout" when he asked for suggestions in the last video, but I didn't know where they typically live. We used to buy them at the local market in Connecticut (which has great fishing despite that it's a small state.) Really good eating. We also occasionally got carp, which I bought whole, gutted (instead of typically filleting) and stuffed with a prune and onion carp-stuffing recipe that I found in an old German cookbook. My eldest daughter and I loved it, but certain members of the family were put off by the idea that it was a carp. 🤷

The only issue I have with the googan baits so far, is durability. Granted, the softer plastic lends to great action, it just sucks going through multiple packs of bait every time you get into some fish.
@lanerother7092 жыл бұрын
There is definitely a line that you have to draw between durability and action. I usually use Strike King because they have all the same stuff that the Googans have but they are more durable.
@GymRat3392 жыл бұрын
Yeah it sucks but I have a full time job so I don’t care. They work better than any other soft plastics, and I really like their hard baits too!

@corrienye70812 жыл бұрын
I've never had issues with their durability honestly. Like I've gotten like 5 fish on a drag n drop. Which is pretty normally for other baits I've tried about 3-5 fish or so on a soft plastic isn't awful
@corrienye70812 жыл бұрын
I will say on their craw baits the pinchers have fallen off while casting them on a jig a couple times which is pretty bad but I mean I am bouncing them off hella rocks and in current and sending them pretty far so they go through a lot it's just disappointing when it happens because we all know it shouldn't
@michaeljorgensen1984 Жыл бұрын
Totally dig the outlook at the end. Spent 9 hrs and two lakes today on the greenback grind just as I was gonna call it got one small one then 4 casts later hooked into an easy 3+ which is rare for public water in my area, jumped and shook the hook right at the edge of my kayak. Fished through the pain and ended up getting on a fun jerkbait bite. Gotta cherish what we can make happen in our day!

Some north east fishing youtubers would do this same challenge but they would score it. They would measure the biggest fish of each species by length and tried to get as many total inches as possible (For instance, if you catch a 12 inch bass and a 10 inch bass, the 12 inch is the only one that adds to your total). You should do this series in different places and see what place has the highest score.

I know there are days that are a grind for you and the boys. Just know man that I appreciate all of the Googan videos and the Googan associates. I literally watch hours and hours of videos everyday when I get home from work. When I'm not out fishing myself. I lost my fishing partner. It will be 4 weeks ago this Saturday so I've been trying to find his replacement. I've been a couple times but it just don't feel right without him. I use to make him watch hours of your videos to the point where I thought he was gonna kill me. But eventually he saw what I saw or he just went along to make me happy. We learned together we stunk it up together. I remember about two years ago or so we would go out and just stink it up!!!!! But with the help of you and the boys we could go out and whack some lmb's. It's just a shame that he can't do that with me anymore. So just know you and the boys put a little light in my heart with every video y'all put out. Keep fishing never stop!!! Kevin J.
