I did a 24 hour readathon once. Probably never again. It turns out I can't really do that. I had to have like 3 or 4 hours of sleep. Someone mentioned doing 24 hours of reading in 2 days. Maybe I will try that.

I have been dying to read Lady Midnight after hearing all the hype about it. Problem is I'm not really interested in The Mortal Instruments series. Can anyone who's read it let me know if it's absolutely essential to read the other series to understand The Dark Artifices??

Hmm... I personally wouldn't advice you to read TDA without having read TMI, because many characters from TMI and TID (The Infernal Devices) are also in TDA. But maybe if you read a very extensive summary of both the other series it might work!
