Your house is so cozy and pretty I’m charmed 😍 Also, here in Brazil Christmas always takes place in the summer, so a typical Christmas for me is spent at the beach, toasting in the sun during the day and eating cold desserts and fruits at night :)

Aussie here. Having a Christmas set in Winter could simply have been a way to appeal to a broader audience. Reaching into the the Northern Hemishphere market, might be a little jarring to have such a celebrated holiday set in a polar opposite season. Another choice, and this is coming from me personally speaking, almost all of the depictions of Christmas are winter themed - from a lot of our decorations that we get here in Australia (including fake snow, or 'frosting effects' to apply on our windows, etc.), to the songs, stories, movies, cartoons, show episodes, food (yes, a lot of us still eat things like roast turkey, ham, etc. on our 40+ degree Christmas Days). So from my perspective at least, Christmas in Winter is more magical because we don't expierence it, and yet practically just as commonplace as for the Northern Hemisphere. Having said that, whilst going to the beach or having a water fights with hoses or water pistols on our 40+ degree Christmas day is fun and all, I still view it as 'more' Christmas-y when snow is involved (which I've never experienced)... that's probably because I've been conditioned to view it that way, though ;)
@mariarcgi394 жыл бұрын
Sorry if its a weird question but academically speaking how do your holidays work? For example here in spain our biggest off school season is from June to September (in uni) because it's when we have our summers, and I've always been curious about the equivalent in Australia (maybe because it's a fascinating country but who knows hahahaha)
@Skirrrbyseadog4 жыл бұрын
@@mariarcgi39 Nah, not a weird question at all - there's no need to apologise :) For years 1-12 it changes slightly by State and Territory, but generally it's 2 and a bit weeks each season (Autumn (April), Winter (July) and Spring (October)) with Summer getting about 7 weeks. For Univeristy, it ranges widely from Uni to Uni (some, for example, adopt a three semeter model, which have courses during Summer), but for the most part, it's about 13-14 weeks off during Summer (so the year begins around March and ends around November) with about 2 weeks each semester for a mid-term break. Keep in mind, as well, that each University has a different schedule, so some may start their year in February and end in October. There's a caveat to all of this: I never went to Universty, so I'm not talking from experience :)

Fun Fact about Christmas in the summer, if were talking about the holiday. There is evidence to suggest that Yeshua/Isa/Jesus was actually born in the summer around August. I've heard that the Qur'an even mentions Date trees in bloom. Also if you like humorous books about the Hell/Heaven dynamic, maybe Pratchett's and Gaiman's Good Omens might be something for you.

Hello!!
