As a native Ohioan I grew up on Lawson products. The company was first founded in Northeast Ohio. I was saddened to see them close down In the early 2000s. You can still buy their chip dip in some Circle K gas stations around Ohio and some other states nearby. Thanks for this video! I hope to visit Japan some day and see another Lawson's in person to try their food!

LOL Apparently Circle K is now trying to compete with Wisconsin's Kwik Trip. They just built one down the street and annoy the hell out of me with their flyers. So now I have so many places to get a quick pre-made food around me from Grocery Stores to Supermarket Gas Station, like Japan but without the Culture Issues that people don't understand about Japan. That's how a good town does it. But I live in the Entertainment Area of the Town so if you can get everything, the only question is WHAT IS YOU BUDGET TODAY?

When I visit Columbus I'm always stunned at the massive grocery stores people are spoiled with. My cousin studied abroad in Japan, and worked at the fish counter at the local Kroger. Because of the local Honda plant, he had Japanese housewives lined up and his hours posted in Japanese because he was the only fishmonger who spoke Japanese and wrote out the fish names in Japanese, and this was before the internet.

Like 7-11, Lawson started as an American company. The company started near Cleveland Ohio. They started a Japanese Division in the 1970's. When their U.S. division started having money problems in the eighties they sold off the Japanese division. Obviously the Japanese chain is still a going concern while the American parent company no longer exists.

Very entertaining as usual. I might try some of the items some time as there are three Lawson stores near where I live. 19:42 That is _anmitsu_ a traditional Japanese dessert. And, no, I do not recommend using all the syrup as everything else is already sweet. The "jello" is agar jelly. That is why it could withstand all the mixing with the fork and why it has a different texture to gelatin based jelly. Also good with ice cream.
