Wow, you got here right before the typhoon strike! Hope you survived all right.😉👍 We have good flood control system so people usually don't die by a typhoon or two, but shut down of transportation system is not nice for tourists. I wish your filming went well.

Mike, living in South Africa and being bed ridden is awful. I'm lucky to have your videos to watch and dream about. We don't have any of the stunning foods you have there especially the convenience stores. You are a star. Thank you for the superb videos you do.

The difference in the American and Japanese 7-11 food would probably have to do with the terrible fillers the FDA allows into American foods.

The flat noodles you had is not soba. It's udon, in a style called himokawa, which is from a certain region in Japan.

Sushi Zanmai has fantastic quality for a sushi chain. Their food is often better than most sushi restaurants in the US.

While I like watching all of Mike's Videos, I'm just glad someone hasn't made his using the word "Umami" into a drinking game, where everytime he say's Umami you take a drink, LOL! But I guess the word "Umami" sounds more refined or cultured than just saying Savory or Meaty. The same with the word "Ginormous".

What you describe as egg salad we would call egg mayonnaise in the UK. Egg salad here would be hard boiled eggs with lettuce, tomato, cucumber etc

Can't wait for the American 7-11s to become more like their Japanese counterparts. Sure, it won't be the same quality wise, but to have a taste of what is available in Japan would be amazing.

For the teriyaki chicken and egg sandwiches, you'll want to get the ones from 7/11. I became obsessed with them over the last year or so, and ended up trying the different versions at various conbinis here. 7/11 wins, hands down! 🤤

I’ve seen fried chicken served with Tatar sauce before and I thought how weird, but then I made some karate and put some tatar sauce on it. I’m hooked, it’s sooooo good.

That's not what it is. The fried chicken is dunked in a sauce of soysauce, vinegar and sugar. The chicken is battered, not just dusted with starch like karaage, so that the batter can be thick enough to absorb the sauce

That smoked cheese is made from processed cheese. Milk fermented with lactic bacteria and the resulting cheese melted and mixed with emulsifier to be shaped into a solid form again.

Japan combini is different the food selection is endless it changes everytime depending on the season and those major chains doesnt the same food items, so he can do it many times he wants still wont able to try everyting except for those egg sandwich that’s already the staple 😅

@@monching6919 Not disagreeing. I've been to Japan many times and have seen different items that could span multiple videos if he were to eat something different each time. All I'm saying is that it you're a traveling food blogger by profession and consider yourself a food expert, I'd want you to eat at new restaurants outside of the kombini, fast food, and buffets which is all he showcases nowadays. Almost makes it seem like he's doing it earn a easy buck.
