24 Hours in Lombok Indonesia (my first impressions)

After spending several days in the Gili Islands we made our way to Lombok. Spending 24 hours in Lombok Indonesia wasn't enough, but my impressions were far exceeded! For 3 years i've visited Bali and never stepped foot on this beautiful island. We ended up renting this beautiful dome villa in Lombok overlooking Mentigi Bay. Safe to say that I need to come back to Lombok and spend a few more days.

every island in Indonesia has different vibes. in Bali you can see thousands of temple in Lombok and Java you can see thousands of mosque. in Flores and other island in the eastern Indonesia you can see thousands of church. Hope you can explore eastern Indonesia as well.

As a Lombok person this warmed my heart and I literally almost cry seeing my hometown have come this far :") I actually want you to go visit Sumbawa too (an island right next to Lombok, I also grew up there), there are many cool hidden gems too out there! Hope you can find an acquaintance to get there since it's not as developed as Lombok & the information is a bit limited. Thanks Alex for your video, keep doing great and hope you can discover more of Nusa Tenggara (both Barat/West or Timur/East)!!!

This is a cool video I went to both Lombok and Bali and I prefer Lombok for many reasons. I did the day trip from Lombok to the Gili Islands, also day trip to the Secret Gilis off SW Lombok. And the beaches along South Lombok (Tanjung Aan is one of them) are incredible, better than the beaches in Bali IMO I did stay in Senggigi. Because there are so many beautiful mosques in Lombok (and myself being a Muslim from the UK), this is another reason why I love Lombok more. I am planning to go to Lombok again hopefully next year during the summer months

Those Dome villas look extremely remarkable! Are they in the area which experienced the worst of the earthquake/s just over 2 years ago? We stayed in Lombok 2 years ago and the first place we were to stay at we couldn't because it had been almost totally destroyed. We stayed further to the south them not that far from Mataram, the capital - a villa on the beach and away from any other villas or hotels. We then went south to Kuta and fell in love with the area. The Dome Villas look very unsafe, although wonderful.

Really great content dude! Although I'm technically American and now live in Florida, I grew up in Indonesia during the 90's till 07 and my folks still split their time between Jakarta and Bali. Wow I love this video and actually my first time to see video in Lombok . About the hotel that you stay in , it likes “ Stay in your own Risk “ haha becos the stairs has not railing above your bed and the balcony has no railing but the view is unbelievable, it’s breathtaking 😍😍

What about the tranquility in the early morning ? we woke up from really early morning praying speakers sounds/quite loud. This happened in Java island too. Bali is definitely much more tranquil then Lombok island in that sense . But the view is indeed also stunning.

actually there are aslo many mosques in bali. it's just that the msques in bali on average dont have domes, plus each msque on average has a distinctive Balinese gate, so it looks like not a msque. and yaaa, in lombok there are many msques and it call "the city a 1000 mosques" with the mosque having a large dome, so that it stands out. lombok n gili muslims cover almost 98% so msques are visible everywhere, while in bali only has 15% muslims, so there fewer mosques in bali seen than in other areas. but i like your vlog this looks fun. I hope u hppy in lombok

I was there at the mall tried some desserts & ate outside next to the mall rice with fried fish...ohh you miss the popular TALIWANG chicken..by the down town LOMBOK about 10 minutes from the mall...I stayed at small place near the BIG MOSQUE 🕌 for couple night.😂😂..ohh I visited MANDALIKA. As well just for fun ..I met quite views tourists from GERMANY 🇩🇪 , SPAIN 🇪🇸 & others..it was 😎

The reason of so many Mosques on Lombok is cuz Lombok is 100% Muslim whilst Bali on the other hand is like a State inside a State - They have their own Balinese religion (their version of Hinduism - 82% population)

Not 100% actually. There are some hindus also who live in lombok. Historically, this island has ever occupied by the balinese kingdom a few hundred years ago

You should explore East Lombok. The best snorkeling spot. East part of Lombok (Gili petagan,gili kapal,gili bidara and gili kondo) My favorites so far are central and east Lombok.. One thing you should go to North Sulawesi is in Sulawesi island. You will feel different experience

I went to Lombok several times. Never get bored with this lovely island. I fall in love with L.O.M.B.O.K. You should definitely come back to Lombok.. Enjoy Indonesia.....

alex, if i don't misheard, you said the public boat from gilis to bangsal departed exact at 8 a.m. or waiting until full seat? how about the schedule from bangsal to gilis?

yes they left prompt at 8am, locals have said though they will wait til boat is full so you could wait til 10am even. but our boat was about 80% capacity. we took the fast boat from lombok back to bali so not sure about the local boat back to gili
