I know it is late in the season, but if you decide to go for Spiti and Leh/Manali highway another year an Royal Enfield is the way to go. By your description of car rides, busses and other means of transportation, your travels will drasticly improve your sense of freedom in your exploration. The cost of it is also reasonable to start MC riding in India. I’ve suggested it before, in a Rishikesh video. That is a good place to start. Take the smaller roads without much traffic! I can guarantee if you put Enfield in your description/headline of your video’s.. it will boost your views, litteraly paying for the motorcycle! 2024 is the year.. from late may! 😉

Himachal has seen UNPRECEDENTED DESTRUCTION this year 😢😢The govt tried to make ROADS WIDER and do usual developmental activities but they forgot that massive construction comes at a cost in Himalyas. It needs to be kept untouched like Bhutan and capitalism needs to be controlled. So, most of our roads (old and new) were destroyed. Govt had to build temporary bridges overnight in many places so that cars can move. It's a developing country, nothing stops here (especially cars). We are trying to find a balance in Himalayas. Any so called development is not taken well by our nature. Edit: some people think Indian Himalayas is like rest of India and has overpopulation problem. Nope! It doesn't. It has a declining population which is a concern for the govt because the fertility rate is also pretty low. In fact, many places barely have any people. The population density of our cities is less than most European cities. What's destroying Himalayas is NO STRICT CONTROL OVER LAND AND MIGRATION ( the migration is mostly in small hill cities) and since last 30 years, capitalism (real estate and tourism especially) is not being controlled. Many people have illegally bought land and made illegal structures to make money. Unnecessary big hotels and lots of empty buildings.
@jenniferrosebruce6385 Жыл бұрын
Very well said. Bhutan simply does not allow people to clamber all over their mountains, hence retaining rhe beauty of their country and charging a high daily fee to visit. I hope himalayan area remain more untouched by tourists. ❤

I'm sorry but how cloudburst or flash flood is linked with roads, capitalism, or Bhutan? It can happen anywhere even in uninhabited areas. Now coming to your points. Roads, even in this video, Gabriel talked about the narrowness of roads. Why need roads? Because a few decades ago, these places used to be small hamlets but as population and income levels grew, these places have become fully fledged cities so, to facilitate the movement of people and goods, roads are a necessity. Capitalism, I don't want to go into this because we have tried other things too then 1991 happened. Bhutan, my district in Delhi has twice the number of people than the entire country of Bhutan. So, wrong equivalence. There is construction happening in Bhutan too. A few months ago, I saw videos of a Bhutanese KZbinr pointing at new building construction, it was said that everybody wanted to go to Australia and send money home to build new houses(there were scores of multistory buildings).

@@subidh2949 We don't have 1.5 billion people in Himalyas. They are in plains and other places. Himalayan population is on the decline and it's below replacement level. Immigration needs to be controlled strictly. If it goes out of hand, entire north India will see environmental disasters because Himalayas are the source of most rivers. We cannot have that.
@Doobedoobedooba Жыл бұрын
@@51lkyw4y you must not be Himalayan because it's very basic science. Roads need things like blasting and cutting of hills. When you use those methods, the hills weaken and it causes landslides. I am not saying don't build roads. Don't widen them everywhere and make them 4 lane (like they are doing). Capitalism is directly linked to concrete jungles. The wider the road, the more the damage. Not to mention the cutting of trees. I am sorry but delhi is a hellhole. Himalyas is still not that. The population level is also on the decline (fairly below replacement ) and migration needs to be controlled for the well being of entire India. There are places in every nation that needs special protection. Greenland in America is one of those places. There are places like that in Russia, Europe and Africa as well. Because India is more powerful than it was before, it can afford to protect the Himalayas.we also need to take care of emerging CAPITALIST CENTRES in the northern plains. Himalyan rivers play a huge role in maintaining ecological balance of Northern plains. So, it needs to be protected for that sake as well. If harmed, north India will first see Mumbai like flooding and then droughts which will kill our agricultural sector. PS: People in Bhutan have a better quality of life than most people in India... especially the ones living in big cities. Honestly, people are leaving India more. India has seen record no. of people leaving... The main reason people leave Delhi is because of pollution and overpopulation decreasing their lifespan. What people like the most about other countries is job opportunities (which we will eventually have more of) and clean environment with less people. To get the latter, we must protect Himalayas

Diplomatic games. Canadian PM blamed Indian government for the killing of a Khalistani terrorist in Canada saying it's violation of sovereignty. India denied and further asked their diplomats to leave. Then Canada adviced citizens against traveling to India. Then India stopped giving new visas. 😄 Nothing serious. Hi Gabriel, besides flooding it looks like they have many earthquakes around I find it strange in a country known for IT work you have no Internet. There must be times when they have power outages. You also have these older structures alongside more modern structures it must be difficult to bring modern equipment to these areas because the roads are out or it's difficult to get around. If India manages to resolve, its infrastructure which could take some time it will be a powerhouse of a country.

This state generates and gives electricity to other states. Because of usual developmental activities to "modernise" it, the state witnessed unprecedented landslides and destruction. There was red alert and everything was shut down for a while. Tourists wee stuck but we managed to safely evacuate most of them. This is the aftermath. Some places are meant to be kept untouched.
