16:54 the blood duck dish is delicious. I know it doesn’t look like it, but taste it and you will love it. The Vietnamese eat this dish too. Not many people know how to make it too, it’s quite complex to get the blood mixture right to eat. It’s a drinking dish, paired with beer Lao, amazing combo. We also eat with with crackers and chase it with mint leaves, garlic clove and ginger pieces. Craving for it, we don’t have it at restaurants here in Australia 🇦🇺. It’s gotta be made from home.

Many people do not know that Northern Thai Isan food actually originated from Laos. Many people do not think Lao has its own culture and cuisine, so I think this is a great way for people to gain some cultural insight. I would love to see next time you try some of the more mainstream and common food, as it is more palatable for foreign taste usually. The more exotic dishes are great too, but it may discourage people from trying Lao cuisine if that is all that they think Lao food consist of. Thank you for this educational video and keep up the great work!

I freaking LOVE it! i really, really, really want to visit Laos someday. For some reason I've always had an obsession with it, mainly because as a teenager I dated an Isaan girl from Thailand for a few months, and I found out they're culturally pretty similar to Laotians (according to themselves). That relationship didn't last long (it was not that much to begin with anyway), but my fascination for Laos stayed :)
@PrimalRage-om8uz Жыл бұрын
Thai Isaan are descendants of Lao people. Thailand took over portion of north east through war from way back in the days. So the laos people that live there became part of Thailand. Their language and culture still similar to Laos, you can tell they're different from Bangkok people.
@akarouge Жыл бұрын
Many Lao people moved from the eastern bank of the Mekong to the west right before the Laos was ceded to the French, one of the many factors why Isaan culture is so similar to Lao.
