Hii , a tip from me , what I do with long books like that , just as I did with the song of Ice and fire series , when they give you a list of characters at the end take the time before starting the book to make a large "family tree" or multiple ones for the kingdoms and families involved, and as the story progresses write down the ways that they are related and stuff it's really helpful ... A lot of work but honestly the only way for me to get through the beginning of such books ♥

I read this book and loved it so much! I actually personally found the pacing really good, there was always new and interesting information given so there wasn’t really any slow parts. Some characters I didn’t care about in the beginning but by the middle I was like omg I love all these characters!!!!

Very cool video! Loved the intro! I did a 24h readathon a few days ago and it was a struggle, it took my 6 hours to finish the last 200 pages that i had left of a book (i dont read fast at all, but i read faster than 200/6h lol)

I really liked this book especially the world and character building is probably the best I've read. I do agree that it took me around 150 pages to get into it, but it was worth the wait a slow read but an essential ones.

hey there! Not a lot of anatomy or alchemy but in The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, one of our main character, the one we actually see most of our main characters, was training to become a surgeon but ended up in the army! We do have a bunch of scenes that focus on the surgeon aspect! It is 1007 pages tho! I do recommend it! (Actually picked it up after Priory of the Orange tree!) - also loved your vlog!

The Montegue siblings' books by Mackenzi Lee have a female character that is interested in alchemy and is mainly about late 1700 alchemy/medicine mixed with pirates and sarcasm. The books are on Storytel and the Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue is one of the funniest audiobooks I've listened to, great to listen to while doing chores/biking etc!

One one hand I'm glad I got this as an e-book and didn't realize it had a glossary and everything because that meant I just kept on pushing forward through the first 200 pages and just accepted being confused, but I really wish I could know what my experience would have been if I had read abt the characters when getting to know them or when they reappeared and I had no idea who they were haha

I'm currently reading this when I stumbled upon this video/channel for one I totally feel u I'm a slow reader too. What helps me get through bug books like this is put a marker every 50 pages which gives me a shorter goal and then ready for 30 min and taking a break each time. But ya also I agree with like certain perspectives my favorite so far are tané and loth though Ead got more interesting as you got further along

Thought you should know that there's a book out there called A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan. Its a fantasy series with short instalments about a Victorian-ish lady naturalist studying dragons! Might hit the spot for you
