Train Tips from a frequent Amtrak rider: -Pack lots of food!!! More than you think you need. -Bring a lock for your stuff! Overnight a girl’s purse and luggage went missing and suspected that someone who got off the train at night stole it. I lock the zippers of my most valuable bag, and lock that to my seat. Then I can roam the train worry free and sleep worry free! - Bring the plugs for chargers bc they dont have USB ports -I get cold so i bring my heated blanket and plug it in on the train! -Dress comfy. I like to wear a hoodie and beanie and when im tired I can just pull my beanie over my eyes -I travel solo so i bring my pepper spray :)

In the second year of pandemic (2021) i kept going back and fourth to my neighbouring country and each train ride was not THAT expensive and nor were the hotels, its a really pretty area and its honestly such a vibe especially during the pandemic times!

I worked at the ski resort in Sun Valley one year and rode the train back to Washington state, I had to wait in the middle of nowhere, in January at 1 AM, for the train, and it felt like it took 24 days to get back to Seattle, the scenery was beautiful though
