Next time for the cardboard walls guys; use some thick sticks like poles of a fence thrn weave the cardboard through it. This would save needing to tie or tape stuff as much as give it support in wind. On the inside of the box you can have pine branches to give it a puff like insulation gap as well to help with the cold.

Also for future reference. Idk if you guys have like town and country or stracks for like your local grocery stores but if you go to the dairy area they will give you all the empty egg boxes for free. They are well built and have handles because obviously they don’t want to break cases of eggs.

Hey Norm! Great video as always!!! Do a 72 hour survival with a $300,500,1000 budget(shelter,blankets,cooking utensils etc.. ) and have someone pick your fishing tackle for you with the remaining money from your budget. So the more you leave for your fishing essentials the better your tackle might be if they don’t sabotage you, water and snacks not included in the budget as it’s essential. But catch and cook.. also fishing challenges everyday who ever catches the most fish gets to take one item from someone else (no shelter ) and if the other doubles your catch they get to take 2 items from you, 2 hour limit…definitely with Lojo, yakpack 🎉🎉🎉 May the Odds be in your Favor LOL

Norm, a little late to the convo. Cardboard can be great building material. 1) spritz and let dry with BORAX washing soda. 2) Cover all cut edges with Hockey Tape and 3) Marine Varnish is your friend. The end product is fire resistant, water resistant and though brittle to sharp punctures really solid. You can improve puncture resistance if you use a wall paper glue tray, and filled with the marine varnish, run flat bed sheets through to saturate and use them as a final layer to your build. :)

@@AlRatz :D in my younger days I used cardboard a lot. Home made tube amplifiers and radios in cardboard boxes. Hot glass inside paper boxes is not advised HAHA but yes, if you treat the cardboard with borax you gain enough fire resistance to be relatively safe. Hockey tape of all the tapes I have tried worked the best (also looks pretty darn sharp against the cardboard). Marine varnish is made to withstand water, regular varnish isn't. And yes, it can puncture, it is a lot like poking a hole into an egg shell. Bed sheet (fabric in general) has a long history as poor mans fiberglass. There are a fair number of folk on youtube that have done either paper or cardboard or foam canoes and finished the outside of them either with fabric or sheet fiberglass. Wall paper, I have done that a lot in my youth, and it is the best way to saturate a continuous sheet of any material with a liquid. Wallpaper paste for sheet paper, water for the prepasted stuff etc.
