Jay: "I'll hitch-hike as far as I can." Reasonable, mundane, gets started quickly. Thomas: "I shall gather up some extra funds by selling my stuff on the streets to fans and then use that to get further." Good idea, might look into legality next time, takes a while for him to get going but eventually he's off on adventure. Eddie: "I'll just go door to door and see if anyone's got any jobs that I can start at instantly and get paid the same day. Or maybe gambling. I know, I'll scrounge up some extra money by 'picking up sponsors' and write their names on my shirt." Absolute Looney Tunes behavior.

Jay: Actually keeps to the spirit of the challenge and officially wins. Tom: Exploits his fame to make a bunch more money and would have cheated a win if the flight wasn't cancelled. Eddie: Tries to make money with zero plan and gets the funniest story.
@pacmonster0664 ай бұрын
I mean if Tom's flight wasn't canceled it would have been a legitimate win. Making more money from their starting money was literally something they were allowed to do. So the fact it was filmed separately on another day is what made it a cheated win.
@Wandergirl1084 ай бұрын
@@pacmonster066 I mean…yeah, technically, but the challenge of seeing how far you can get on fifty pounds kinda gets ruined at that point, at least in my opinion. It's okay, I can be wrong.
@pacmonster0664 ай бұрын
@@Wandergirl108 Tom set the rules at the start of the challenge. Only using the 50 pounds and not a cent more was never a rule. That was their initial budget that they could increase. All 3 people ended up making more money than the original budget. Jay did the poem for the RV couple and music/caricatures in France. Eddie did that initial job. Tom sold his own art. All of them made additional money. I don't know what you wanted out of this.
@Wandergirl1084 ай бұрын
@@pacmonster066 You're right, I'm not saying otherwise. I guess I was just curious to see how far someone could get using ACTUALLY only fifty pounds.
@dominickeijzer58444 ай бұрын
@@pacmonster066That's not really the point of what they were saying. It's like if Eddie went to a bank, withdrew enough money to buy a plane ticket and went to New Zealand. It's relying on a prior resource (in Tom's case being his fame) instead of seeing how far you could actually get with £50.

If you ever find yourself in Limoges looking for a fitting souvenir after a dishonest bespectacled man challenged you to a travelling contest, the town is famous for its porcelain. The more you know. If you only manage to make it to Orléans, use whatever means necessary to leave as soon as possible and book it to Tours instead, which is much better in every way (sorry, I'm from there and there's a bit of a regional rivalry). Jay should have simply contacted the Tim Traveller, who has collaborated with Jay on some of the videos he's produced and/or appeared in over the past few years (What Went Wrong With The Tube Map?). I'm sure Tim would have been willing to give Jay a hand once he reached French soil...unless he was out of the country at that time!!

As someone from Preston I can confirm there is indeed fuck all there, but seeing Eddie desperately running round my home town to get a bus for £2 brought me immense joy

i was trying my hardest to think of something. but despite it being actually a very nice place, it's really unremarkable. if you want to leave preston with an interesting but ultimately worthless souvenir, you get a degree from uclan.

Ok but this video is actually great. Its so heartwarming to see so many kind people and showcasing businesses and even a charity is awesome as hell.. I would love to see more of these videos

Even if he had no clue about the country, I'm glad to even hear the mention of my homeland Estonia from Tim Tommy Tomscar himself💪💯 (In the ad portion I should mention) (Also there is an infamous ghost lady in my country so he technically got it right)
