thataylaa Taylor, I just bought this this past Saturday and I couldn’t wait to try it. So after applying it, I noticed it looked cakey in a couple spots on my face as well. I didn’t want to give up so I ended up with a foundation cocktail that looks amazing! I used the Becca foundation with the L’Oréal Tru Match Lumi. I was also thinking maybe the Becca foundation mixed with some Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation. But besides the dry areas ( dry squad 🙌🏼😂) I think it’s a hella good foundation! P.S. I’ve been subscribed to you for a while now, and even tho I love every video if yours, I absolutely look forward to “15 Days of Foundation”. Cher YourGlam Yep Taylor is my go to gal for foundations! I’m 42 so I got a bit of age on her, but bc she has some creasing issues, I’ll know I’ll definitely have them. I also have lots of texture and acne scars, so she really has been helpful!!! I want to try the CYO so bad but don’t have a clue what shade to get. It’s hard choosing online! Have you tried it??

Kelly Rose you should join the FB group ThaTaylaa’s Baerrito Fam! I have tried CYO but I’m super yellow and their yellow shades are kind of gray. 😂 but tons of people in that FB group have tried it and there are tons of comparison swatches with other foundations for reference. I’m sure you could find someone who is the same shade as you in another foundation who has tried it and can recommend a shade haha. And I have tons of creasing and texture as well so Taylor is the best! CYO does crease around my mouth but sometimes I mix it with Too Faced Peach Perfect and that helps.

When blending in foundation, have you ever considered just adding product to the outside of your face and then blend it towards the center of your face as you go over with a beauty blender? I just notice that a lot of beauty influencers add soooo much foundation and then say that it’s caking up around their t-zone. I have such dry skin so I never add product to my nose or in between my eyebrows, I simply blend my foundation from my cheeks towards the center of my face, so it kind of stretches the foundation out, rather than just adding a solid layer all over my face! I hope that makes sense lol, it has worked wonders for me because I used to just add foundation to the center of my face and then blend it out, and now I add it to the outside of my face and blend it in. Looks SO much better and I don’t crease or cake up in my t-zone any more!

Its actually recommended to do that when you're learning the "professional" way to put on makeup. Where you crease and fold, like around your eyes, nose and lips, you dont want a lot of product there because those areas crease and fold 😂 And if you have lots of porous areas, using a pore filler then using less product there can look absolutely flawless.

This is what works best for my dry, 34-year-old skin, too. Plus, the amount of redness on my cheeks means I want the majority of my coverage there anyway. I've always been confused by the oft-cited recommendation to start in the center of your face and blend outward.

I always start on the larger plains of my face - cheeks & forehead... and using teeny tiny amounts. I find the less is more approach (and building in layers if needed) far more beneficial in reducing cakeyness. Also the recommendation for starting in the centre and working outwards I think is supposed to prevent the "frame" of foundation line around the hairline, jaws & ears and get the blend there more natural. I'm always amused by youtbers, specially the ones who tan and so use a much darker foundation than their faces, who forget to blend into the ears and so get the ears of a different colour look... floating head syndrome for the ears (and just as noticable).

**UPDATE ON MIXING LIFEPROOF (103) AND FRESH WEAR (425):** Used about a quarter pump of each. Shade was a great match for me. Application was much better compared with Fresh Wear alone-no pilling on nose, which happens with Fresh Wear alone. Very nice finish (satin), very good staying power (12 hours, graceful fading). The mix lasted longer than the Lifeproof alone. Great combo for me for endurance days; will probably otherwise use Lifeproof by default and Fresh Wear only when mixed. Hope this is helpful! Inspired by Taylor, I’m going to do my first foundation mix tomorrow: CYO Lifeproof (103) and L’Oréal Fresh Wear (425). Has anyone tried this combo before? I feel like I should put on a lab coat and bust out my snorkel mask, all scientist-like. I have my fancy candle lid ready. Also, Taylor looks amazing today! Dress/top, nails, lips, eyes, hair-all on point, big time. (Edited to add my shades, in case that info helps anyone!)

I had to take my dog to the emergency vet two days ago because she was choking on a bone and the vet didn’t know if she was going to make it. Elizabeth Greer I finally used the CYO in 104 this morning and I LOVE IT!! It blended in beautifully and looks like a second skin while giving fantastic coverage. I wore it for about 13 hours without fading, breakdown, or patchiness. I’m excited to try it again tomorrow with some different products and a different eye look (I used the Marc Jacobs Steel (etto) palette today. ). Hope you are loving it as well!!!

This is my favorite foundation ever!!!! It’s best used with a primer for sure. I use it with the smashbox radiance primer and it’s perfection!! I swear it’s a miracle. Just set it with a good finishing spray like Urban’s all nighter and it’ll look perfect all night I promise!!

I used to use this several years ago when I had bad hormanal acne and it was one of the only foundations to cover EVERYTHING. The downside of that was a thick, cakey mask that made it very obvious I was wearing makeup. Haven't tried it again since I got on medication to control my acne and after seeing this, I'll pass. Hopefully these last few days of 15 DoF will have some more winners and we can end as strong as we started!

I’m not prepared for this series to be over!! I’m wearing the L’Oréal fresh wear foundation today and so far I’m loving it. I did not have to use any powder at all. I’m using the elf camp concealer which I also don’t have to set. I feel like these two products are saving me a few minutes in my makeup routine, which as a mom I really appreciate. I got the shade true beige 420. CYO 102 is a perfect shade match for me and I feel like this is really close to that just for reference. I feel like the L’Oréal foundation looks like my skin but just perfected. It just melted right into my skin. I’m very happy with it.

Usually if a foundation is too dry for your tyoe of skin,you can just mix in a glowy drop or 2 of oil the bottle or mix it when your about to apply and it will make it perfect!!!

I really, really wanted it to work on my skin (dehydrated) and I think I've found the way!!! Extra moisturising half an hour before and 1 drop of oil of your choice mixed in foundation. Makes magic!!! 😍

This was the foundation I used for my wedding, it was the only one I found that could cover my acne scarring. It did crease on me but I was overall very happy with it. As I’ve used it more and more it has been creasing in places I never usually get it, such as my smile lines, but the coverage is so amazing.

I have this foundation, and I have worn it alone only a handful of times. This past weekend I tried mixing it with the Kiels Daily Reviving Concentrate and it looked SOOOO much better! It was much easier to spread and blend and looked really good all day. If you have a facial oil that isn't too heavy I would suggest mixing it with this foundation,

I was SO GLAD to see you had done a review on this! AT FIRST I thought it was just me that found this just TOO much. I had tried this foundation YEARS ago, maybe 10?? and wore it twice for a day each time (after working with it for hours to try to get it to look decent) then put it away and I have YET TO FIND IT AGAIN. IT was SO CAKEY, DRY, THICK and just felt like I had gone out and smeared wet clay & mud from the yard on my face. I tried it with more moisture & a moisture mist and THAT was when I just put it away. IT CREASED so bad, I am older and have wrinkles right under the inner part of my undereyes and then the 11's between my eyebrows (& with my health junk, sensitivity to SO many things & BAD reactions to things I am NOT even going to touch Botox! ) so it just FELL into those and no matter what I tried it didn't help. I remember years ago when people were first using it I saw a lot of videos of some people saying how they liked it cause it STAYED ON. YES, it does stay on, it kind of sets up like concrete on your face!! I cannot imagine this working for ANYONE but someone VERY YOUNG with very OILY skin. I understood what you were trying to show that wasn't showing up on the camera. From a distance and on camera it looks almost flawless, unless you are close up . It is good coverage but really dry & cakey feeling.

I have the same foundation at home and completely agree with your review of the product. My skin now looks similar to yours and because I found it so cakey, I tried to figure out how I can mix it go give me a more dewey finish, i.e. something you can wear in public...if you mix 1 pump with 3 drops of Bio Oil, the finish is beautiful! I highly recommend trying it out!

I got that years ago because I had oily, sweaty skin and live where it gets REALLY hot in the summer and everything runs off my face and smears. EVERYONE said how this one stayed and didn't budge, covered everything and was good for oily skin. I COULDN'T WAIT to try it. WELL, I tried it twice and it felt like I had a mud mask on! It was DRY, cracky/creasy, and felt like I could just take my nails and scratch my face and leave big tracks in it! It also looked yellow. It has been sitting at the back of a box NOT being used. I got a sample recently to see if it had changed ANYTHING BESIDES THE PACKAGING. NO, they didn't. MAYBE there is someone that can use it, but I am drier now and won't touch it so I can imagine with your dry skin! It must have felt like you had a face full of Milk of Magnesia drying it out!

Bought the Loreal foundation after your video because I saw nothing but great things and it worked epically on my combination skin (dry on my nose with a few dry patches on my jawline, oily on forehead and chin) and its all because you recommended it! I couldnt really use a whole ton of the foundations for oily skin but i can most definitely can get down with the deweyer foundations! This foundation was definitely tricky for me, especially just going into winter (best and worst time to try a new foundation!). It took a week of playing with it, but I think it was because I used the Neutrogena hyaluronic acid gel or the ELF hello hydration cream consistently to bring up my overall skin hydration (severe oily skin with dry patches, huge pores). I also found that using the UD all nighter spray before application made it more skinlike (and not spraying anything after makeup is done).

Got back in the car and returned it showing the employees the creasing and we picked out Too Faced Peach Perfect instead and for a little over a year now the Too Faced has been my top tier holy grail foundation lmao. This is my absolute favorite foundation hands down! It’s best with a beauty blender like sponge, setting with a translucent powder, and using setting spray. I wish you would do these steps before you judge the foundations- cause that’s what most of us use with a full face!

I have oily combo skin, and this seems to find any dry skin and lift it up...even though b4 the foundation I didn’t seem to have flaky skin. It also doesn’t cover acne very well. That being said I only had a sample of this, and I noticed with Becca products the samples preform different then the full size product.

I love the Pocket Guide for keeping notes each day but I might suggest for next year you use a non-glossy paper because the ink really smears and transfers from each side of the page when closed. Otherwise I think this was an awesome idea and appreciate having it.

If only others had your dedication, level of commitment & work ethics! Thank you for this series, I cannot tell you what it & Project Beauty Share means to me! As a single mother of 3 who has been living in a women's & children's shelter because of my extremely abusive exbf who didn't allow me to wear makeup among worse atrocities, this series always makes me bawl. I can hardly watch it while it's ongoing, for some odd reason I can only watch it afterwards, but it makes me cry in the best of ways. I wish I could afford more than I fan for kids, but also for myself. I'm sure there's someone who can sympathize, empathize or come to an understanding of that feeling of not wearing makeup because there's no use at the same time being envious & wanting to wear it because of some sense that it may yet he worth it-if that makes sense. I do own some, but hardly wear it for those reasons. Regardless, I understand what makeup means to many & the necessary parts of wearing too, so I also use it for the latter. My therapist says to buy it & wear it to spite him, which I'll admit to wanting to do that too at times. Great video as usual!!! Kerry Cole from BECCA had mentioned in an Instagram live video a while back that she likes to use one pump of this foundation mixed with one pump of their primer (the purple one), I tried that and found that I liked how it looked on my dry skin much better. I also use 2 moisturizers on my skin before I wear it. I definitely wouldn't buy this foundation again because of the extra steps I need to take to make it work for me, but at least I found a way to use it up :)

Unless I have a blemish in the area, I apply the most minimal amount of foundation possible around my nose. Even lighter coverage, skin-like foundations can look cakey in that area for me. Since I began literally just using the leftover foundation still on my brush in that area after blending my entire face, I have even fallen back in love with higher coverage products. It's an area to avoid for most people. Hope this helps!

I ABSOLUTLEY loved This foundation!I have 3 different shades for seasons.😂And I am 43.Iy made My fave look supersmooth,no pores,just amazing coverage,and not to matte or not to dewy,right in the middle,They added a ton more Shades cuz None of My fair or light neutral shades look orangey in the least but.they look completely normal😘

I think I have the older formula. The reason I say that is because the bottle is like a brown rubbery bottle and the ones I have seen lately are glass bottles. The formula is nice but it does get cakey and I have oily skin. I'm wanting to try the newer one and see how it is. 💜💜

This is my go-to foundation for summer! It lasts through 100+ degree days in LA without drying my already dry skin out or getting cakey 🥰

I had this foundation... I know it’s not a popular way to wear it, but I’m not a full coverage person, I mixed a bit with my facial sunscreen to make a “my shade bb cream.” I try to return as little product to the store as possible so I don’t get flagged, so I use up all my stuff. BTW, my daughter and I are loving the pink T shirt... We’ll be wearing ours on “Mean Girls Wednesday,” since on Wednesday they wear pink.

Thank you! I’ve always wondered about this foundation and was considering buying/getting a sample. I have dry skin (after going through accutane as well) and I could def see how it looked on your skin much much better in this video. And even when I couldn’t see certain things (lines, separation, etc.) you made it very clear they were prevalent. Needless to say, I will not be picking this one up lol. Yep, this foundation is one of my OGs for me and my very oily skin. It is definitely not for dry skin. It isn’t the most long lasting foundation compared to more modern foundations.

One year later and I got this in my boxycharm. I looked up the ingredients and it's like 90% dimethicone... My skin hates the stuff. I'll give it a try, but if I need to mix it, I think most of my foundations are water based sooo.... My skin is normal though, so maybe I can get away with using it here and there. I dunno... lol Had to watch your review again!
