Что-то резануло слух по поводу wasteland, всегда переводил это слова как "пустошь", а не "свалка" Мне кажется, что dumping waste в данном тексте, это не отходы в смысле "мусор", а отходы в смысле "отработанное топливо"

I agree. It really makes you mad. I like it when the neighborhood is clean and nice. But there are a lot of people who draw graffiti and leave garbage everywhere. If I could, I would make them all disappear!

Fishing's been my main hobby since my childhood. For me it's the best way to relax and distract myself from the existential pain. But ecological situation in Russia and in SPb is horrible and getting worse every day. It's a torture to watch nature being killed. Poison, garbage, deforestation and nuclear waste made most of our rivers and lakes liveless and dangerous for humans. Eating fish from Neva or city lakes is pure suicide ☠ I go on fishing, although I don't consume the fish I catch almost at all and usually let it go back to its natural habitat.

A big thank, my dearest teacher! Oh, it's a common ecological trouble all over the world, maybe as I can imagine to myself. The problem of environment pollution is actually the most common and it's being talked over by the officials anywhere else. Although, here in the Oahu Island (Hawaii) our local authorities do always try to save 'n' make a nature as better as it possible. They clean up the beaches, locals help to tidy up some messes on the streets, roads and in the yards as well. Therefore our city can really be considered one of the clearest ones in the world like Melbourne, for instance. (Have you been to Melbourne, Elena?) If it's not, I highly recommend you visiting this wonderful city. I've been there many times on my job and I gotta confess, I fell in love with that one at first sight! There are so many lakes, ponds, rivers (Yarra is my fave, I swam in that), recreation places (Albert Park is my fave walking place), ocean resorts, sports entertainment, amusement parks and also just a lot of green alleys for a quiet walking. It's my point of view, I love Melbourne! Well, I hope for that my comment didn't tire you up while you're reading it. I just wanted to emphasize the fact of a global world pollution, and it's a deplorable fact in our reality, unfortunately. Thanks, Elena one more time for the lesson! I do love you, appreciate all of your efforts to help us (mostly to russians, as I suppose but not only...) I'll be grateful if you find a bit of spare time to reply me! I'll see you in there! Hi, Dave. Thanks a lot for your kind words and for a nice story. I've never been to Australia and I never even planned to go there. It's too far from Europe. So far I've been only to European states. My friends used to live in Australia for half a year. But they were not very happy there. They lived in Brisbane. They didn't like te nature because it's was hot (when they were there), they were scared of the snakes. And the locals weren't too friendly. But it's their experience, not mine.

I'm a professional auto racer, I've been taking part in any kind of the races for many years, as from my childhood, firstly that was NACC (National North American Carting Cup), then my career consistently has grown up to the highest level. And now I participate in NASCAR Cup, it's very prestigious 'n' also high-salary challenge. If you don't know anything about that, I won't be talking it so that not to overwhelm your brain. And what about you, russian friendly guy? Do you study yet or have a job already? Have you been living in Russia since the birth and never been to US here?
