Thank you for your time. I've traveled alone all my life, and I'm 70. For myself, I may be traveling alone, but I am never lonely. I'll be visiting Vietnam in October, by myself, to see if I want to retire there. Thanks again.

I've been traveling solo since I was 19, and it's been so liberating. I'm a people pleaser, and it was difficult for me to say what I wanted to do or make decisions for fear of travel companions not wanting the same. It's helped a lot! It's very interesting to see a compiled list of things that I've always subconsciously kept in my head, but are so important!

Hairspray is a great alternative for pepper spray! I use to travel for work mostly within the United States and I always had hairspray on me. Also having a doorstopper alarm is great to have because it will make a loud noise if someone tries to open your hotel door.

Omg this is smart. I go to a lot of concerts in chicago at night, and venues don't allow weapons or self-defense so I pretty much walk around at night and take the L completely unarmed. And as a girl, I get really sketched out sometimes. I'm definitely going to see if hairspray passes security

Oh you young people are so lucky. I travelled alone in my 20s before cell phones even existed and long distance international calls were super expensive. If I got lucky I'd call from a pay phone on the street to say "I'm alive!" before hanging up 😂

Meee toooo!!! I relied on internet cafes! I went to Germany without a CAMERA! It was too expensive for me to get one for 2005 World Youth Day! And when I lived in Japan (im from Toronto) i called home with a $50 card (5000 yen) once a week and mailed pictures to home. Its so different now!!!!!! I had a japanese english book too

I've done three and a half cross country road trips (PA to the Pacific Ocean and back) by myself (the half was doing Route 66 from the TX/OK state line up to Chicago, also from and back to PA). Any time I get nervous about something these days, I always say to myself, "Girl, you have driven across this massive country multiple times by yourself. YOU CAN DO THIS", and that usually helps me with my nerves. I think everyone should try solo travel at least once in their life. You learn a lot about yourself.

A nice tip i learned alone is keep 1 earphone on and connect so that you seem to be a local when in doubt on how to get to hotel or Y and X locations... This because you just press start trip (google maps) and it speaks to you the directions so others around only think you're listening to music

Good info in here, thanks! I am making my 1st international trip soon and going solo, honestly looking forward to just wandering around at my own pace! For safety I will be taking a "tactical pen" with me after a couple people recommended them to me, look them up as there's a few options but they can be used as a last resort close in self defense tool you can take on a plane with you!

My safety is off the wall I take stun gun because I take buses or trains so I can bring things. Except my Canada trip I had body spray bottle with rubbing alcohol in it. Crazy part I’m never scared maybe since I growing up living public housing or Detroit just different . So far I’ve been okay but on guard.

10:25, Yeah my dad and I forgot to bring international adapter and made a huge mistake because last June when I was visiting Belgrade, Serbia for the 1st time for a few days, my dad ask the hotel staff to borrow her international adapter and she said yes, but return to her tomorrow, which we did and the staff were rude to us because we forgot to bring international adapter, not good and huge mistake.

I love solo traveling, the only down side to it is that there’s some restaurants or accommodations take a minimum of 2 guests for reservations and they won’t even make an exception even when I’m willing to paid extra, that’s sad. Especially in JP 😅 P.S. I love the BT21 tag. So cute

I’ll never travel alone as a woman. Terrible things do happen. It’s really not for everyone. If you wanna be brave be brave. But acting like it’s totally safe for a woman to travel alone is just irresponsible content. I’m sorry.
@mayaleex34 ай бұрын
Aww I agree, it’s really not for everyone! Everytime I’ve traveled alone it’s because I HAD to 🙁 of course I’d love for my husband or friends to join but sometimes it’s inevitable, and I want people to know it’s 100% okay to travel alone if you want to or need to!
@feliitchi4 ай бұрын
Traveling alone for anyone can be dangerous more so if you are a woman, but it is something than can be safe if you are aware of your location, surrounding, and let people know where you'll be and what you're doing. Going anywhere can be dangerous as a woman alone,but people get murdered in their homes and neighborhoods too. Sometimes it's okay to take a risk. As a woman there are alot of places I wouldn't go at all even if I was with people because they are dangerous but there's also a lot of places where the risk doesn't seem any worse than going to my local supermarket by myself. I don't think this is an irresponsible video at all.

@@mayaleex3 I'm exactly the same as you. I have travelled alone 3 times to Europe. Last summer for 3 months, its not bc I want to be alone, its bc I have no other option. Why would someone never see the world just because they don't have a travel partner, that seems stupid to me. Yes, you need to have your guard on all the time, try not to trust anyone 100 percent and just have common scense like in your own country. From what I experienced and witnessed, its all people that are getting pick pocketed, scammed not just women.

@clareholgaInte8718 In Uk someone hoes misding every minute or so so what s the difference. I ve travelled solo many times but try to not drink alcohol or exhaust mysrlf so as not to be aware and alert. I dont go off into middle of nowhere alone either contrary to advocates of doing this. I ll try to keep just 1 light bag on me in future so no falls or being distracted.
