This lecture is fantastic! This professor really knows how to explain these concepts quite well and also engages his students often instead of going on and on with no breaks to digest what was just said. "Don't copy this down, just listen" I wish more professors taught like this!!

In the kinetics equation, there is a mistake in the second term (delayed neutrons). There dimension should be flux divided by time. So division by lifetime is missing.

What are the math prerequisites for these 22-01 classes?
@mitocw4 жыл бұрын
From the syllabus, "This course, which is the first subject in the Nuclear Science and Engineering undergraduate degree sequence, has no prerequisites. It is generally taken in the first semester of sophomore year, after two semesters of freshman calculus and physics." See the course on MIT OpenCourseWare for more info and materials at: ocw.mit.edu/22-01F16. Best wishes on your studies!

I have personally been quite encouraged by the simplicity of the maths involved here, and I also wish to applaud all those involved in making this course freely available and accessible.

Why wouldn’t there be use of technology for teaching especially with all the money those MIT students are paying.

Almost all of them are doing research

University lectures have been successfully performed this way for a _very_ long time indeed, and you've failed to mention which _specific_ "technology" you believe would improve this teaching/learning environment. Attempting to 'fix things that aren't broken' really _would be_ a waste of financial resources. It's also not cheap running a research reactor to play with.

My student experience of technology for teaching made me a lifelong chalk and talk reactionary.

From what element are we talking about. Smartass?? Wave, what wave? Like 4g or 5gg. Explain that to me. Here is a better one. What is the wave function of the U element.. just wondering what is U 17. 😊
