I gave birth prematurely to all three of my boys. My middle son was born at 25 weeks, he is now a strapping 6'3 20 year old young man. These are little miracles, it's our love and dedication as parents that keep them going. For everyone who is experiencing such a terrible headache ... He is an amazing boy. He has this week been diagnosed with a mild intellectual disability, but will go to a normal school etc. He will live a normal life, it will just be a little bit harder for him, but not as hard as it is for so many others.

Thank you so much posting this video. It looks like your son is doing well right now. I was born 21 years ago at the St. Paul Children's Hospital at 25 weeks weighing 1 lb 10oz. Since the technology was not that great back then, my parents did not have a lot of pictures or videotapes of me to show me how small I actually was. Thank you so much for posting this video!! Anyone with the heart & strength to smile through struggles has my all consuming respect & adoration. Toby has fought every moment of every day & yet he is the most joyous clever little guy! To be honest he makes me ashamed to say that I have days where I beg God to take me cos I am tired of fighting - I had a rough start with preemie issues with digestion allergies etc but my 'real' fight didn't begin until I was 21. I had 21 years of walking running talking school & fun who am I to whine! Thankyou for sharing such precious moments, The ever incredible Toby & your family will forever be in my prayers - I will never forget your little man's tenacity & his beautiful eyes! I’m a Speech Therapist who worked with “micro premies”. Some barely weighed a pound and they survived with no deficits in speech, language, mobility, etc. About 1/5 micro premies have autism. I had 2 that I suspected were autistic. But I was so impressed with the ones who developed normally. I worked with doctors for 30 years and I have total respect for 90% of them

I was born 24 weeks and wasn’t supposed to live I weighed 1 lbs and 10 oz the retina in my left eye detached and I had to get laser surgery on both of my eyes but the doctors can only save one and my lungs were not fully developed and I was on oxygen for 6 weeks and I couldn’t come home until July and I’m here and I’m breathing because of God ❤️❤️

I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my 3rd. My first was a preemie and I was inpatient in the hospital for 3 months. This one is 1 1/2 lbs at 23 weeks measuring way bigger than average. Your baby here is so cute and I just wanted to see a real video of what baby looks like at 24 weeks, not an animation but a real human video. I know this video is 10 years old but he was adorable when he was this tiny! It's shocking to see how much they do outside of the womb at 24 weeks. My heart melted when he grabbed your finger. As the mom of a preemie from my first pregnancy, I have a huge heart for preemies. Of course nobody wants their baby to be born prematurely but going through the experience myself, I enjoyed every step of the way having a smaller baby in the beginning. Back then it was scary but when she was healthy to come home it was fun having a mini sized baby. Her clothes are just so tiny. Now she is all legs, she is eight and a half years old and you would never know the struggles she had in the beginning.

He's absolutely beautiful. I'm so very, very happy for you. I had a 25 week premie 42 years ago, but in those days the doctors made no attempt to save them and worse still, they would not allow you to see or hold your baby. My son lived for 4 hours. I'm still angry and grieving to this day.

I'm 18 & was born prematurely. I was born at 24 weeks. I was suppose to be born April 11, 1997 but I was born December 25th of 1996. I weighed 1 pound & 6 ounces. A baby at 24 week has a 50% chance of survival, to think I made it through something like that. I suppose I can say the doctors, nurses, & God saved my life. & I thank God for that everyday.
