The foetus is over 30 centimetres long and weighs 600 grams. His heart is beating over 130 times a minute and can be heard with a stethoscope or during an ultrasound.
Your baby may react to your mood swings and can hear external sounds so well that he might even be able to recognise music that was often played during pregnancy well after birth. When born now, your baby’s chances of survival would be still quite low due to his lungs which are not mature enough at this stage.
Your baby’s body is producing surfactant, a complex substance in the lungs that will later help him breathe effortlessly outside the uterus.
You may be having nosebleeds, bleeding gums, and a runny nose. The fundus has reached your navel and your body is getting larger. Although most of the weight gain is necessary for the growing baby, living on sweets may add weight that is difficult to lose once you have given birth.
Consult your doctor immediately if you’re experiencing period-like contractions, numb pain in your lower back, pressure on your pelvis or vaginal discharge. These could be the symptoms of premature labour. Don't forget to eat a healthy and balanced diet which is vital for your baby’s growth. -

Currently 24 weeks .. first pregnancy.. I felt baby movement yesterday but today he is so quite . Is it normal .. heard baby heartbeat 23 week at ob office it’s 150 ..
