Wow, nice to see that your actually completely restoring and refurbishing the stock parts rather than gutting, caging, drifting, and wrecking it. Thank you Kyle I've been dreaming of doing something exactly like you're doing on an S13 hatch and now I can have some sort of inspiration for one day!

LOVING this. I wasn't expecting this level of depth in the project, but it's wonderful. Thanks for sharing, I'm sure that producing such detailed videos is tripling the time required to finish out the project, but it's awesome to be able to follow along like this.

@adamyz81987 жыл бұрын
My 240 would be good for a parts car if you hook up a battery to it, everything works, it runs and drives, my family took care of it so its clean inside, outside could use paint but we haven't put it on the road for 2 years because it has bad tires so when we wanted to replace them and take the wheels off all the jack points went through the car.

Rule one when removing a steering wheel, ALWAYS leave the retaining nut on the end of the column this will save your teeth and broken noses
@fargogemini6947 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out, my wifi crashed and I didn't know it had posted. Top of the class at school was you?
@colla5557 жыл бұрын
But does it make such a difference if you hit your head onto the column or nut? (the nut isn't that much bigger or less pointy than the bolt of the column.)
@fargogemini6947 жыл бұрын
colla 555 leaving the nut on stops the wheel flying off had hitting you in the face, was you thinking about head butting it? To try to get it off.
@colla5557 жыл бұрын
No, I thought you were talking about putting the nut back on after removing the wheel. So that you don't hurt yourself as hard when working in the car with the wheel removed. :D

You should leave the locking nut threaded on the steering wheel a bit. That way you don't smack yourself in the face when the steering wheel breaks loose.

That is one really negative thing that I absolutely hate about plastic parts as they age they fade and they also become brittle so when you take them off you end up breaking off clips even if you try to be very careful! I am glad to see people restoring these cars instead of tearing them up and making drift cars out of them.
@BJK1987AU7 жыл бұрын
Put the steering coloum on a few threads. Move the seat forward a bit. Put your knees under the wheel putting pressure on the wheel rearwards. Then use your hands to tap the top of the wheel towards you. Should come easier and you wont smash yourself in the head with the wheel.

Best way to remove the steering wheel is to rock it back and forth while pulling toward you. Keep the nut threaded on slightly so you don't hit yourself in the face or chest when it comes off.
