240SX KA24DE Turbo Build EP.4 FIRST STARTUP

Continuing the S14 KA24DET Build, this video consists of installing the blow off valve, 550cc injectors, AEM wideband gauge and the ECU. The car is finally running! I appreciate the feedback so drop a like and feel free to comment!

It's always a long road bit I know how it feels for the car to start first time after doing some big work on it. It's like all the pain of getting there isn't pain anymore. It's pure excitement. Makes it so worthwhile! Can't wait to see the next video! :D

I always thought you put tension on the wastegate spring for better response, not for more or less boost

Super clean build so far, bud. You should run an electric Altima fan in place of your mechanical fan. It pulls more air and leans up the engine bay...plus, there will be more room for an engine oil cooler without the fan shroud. ;)

you dont adjust boost by moving the actuator arm in or out, thats how you set the pre-load. Set your wastegate penny to the closed position, attach actuator rod to fit on the arm that moves the penny, then remove again and shorten rod by 1/2 a turn, or more if needed, until the wastegate penny is fully closed WITH some slight tension on it(ie no rattling/looseness) and thats your actuator set up. the level of boost will be decided by the spring inside the wastegate (5,8 or 11psi etc) and how much air is then bled off on top of that by a boost controller.

Its internal wastegate so I cant change the spring. But I think ive heard this before. Ill have to look into it, thanks!

I was going to say similar. It can slightly effect boost levels, but it isn't very precise and isn't the "right" way to do it. If you want to make lower boost, just get a simple MBC.

My S14 has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. I have put 150,000kms on it since I bought it in 2011 and have never had a break down, even with the SR20 that I put in about 30,000km ago. Not scared to take it on many thousand km roadtrips every year.. But I also take very good care of the car, so undoubtedly that has alot to do with it.

Its rich cause you need a fuel pressure regulator, you're running prob a 225 with oem lines and filter but the pump will give you more fuel and more fuel pressure so you're gonna need to regulate it. I think my ka runs at 32 psi for fuel

how much psi can hold a ka stock ?

Some say 8 max to be safe, some say 10. Some say you can run 14 with a good tune. Comes down to how much hp your making and a few other things from what ive read but im going to keep it at 8 for a while.

The reason you car wants to stall out when your revving your engine is cause you need to tune it. its not used to all that boost.
