On your next build you can use some VQ35 lifter buckets. They're a one piece unit with no shims. As long as you order the right buckets for your valve lash specs she'll be running strong. You'll gain some RPM because they're much lighter.

I noticed you didn’t switch out your stock valves for upgrades like stainless steel valves or use titanium retainer locks, ( collets). You might experience valve stem sheer if you plan on high RPM. It’s always a good idea to replace all valve train components with upgrades and not just some of them. You may end up with an expensive mess.

thomas smith yeah over the winter I actually did get tomei oversized valves for it and the head has been at the machine shop since February and i have a bunch of extra caps so i can get the lash set probably

Make sure you check cam to valve bucket gap. I’m sure you spent a good sum of money on your cams I would hate to see those lobes rounded off.

Nice work. Buying a lot of good parts! Good luck from one small car channel to another. You might look into powder coating at home. I just released one video on it and my next should be out today. :)

One critique I would like to make is the OBX pulleys or any similar pulleys are extremely bad for engine harmonics you want something like an ATI or any other purpose built fluid dampener that's meant to absorb vibration those pulleys are not meant to absorb vibration there meant to look pretty

Was your rear cam journal on the intake cam undersized by about a mm? Did the cam cap "float" on the cam?
@MemelordJord4 жыл бұрын
If you have aftermarket cams they’re supposed to be like that and apparently you aren’t supposed to plug the oil hole either

Thats what i keep hearing but how does it retain oil pressure then?
