As a lifelong Miami fan, the hate for Miami from other fans is intriguing to me. Mostly because we've been down for so long. Every time Miami peeks it's head above the clouds, even for a brief second, the haters come out the wood work. But anyway, all this winning in the offseason Mario is so good at needs to start translating at some point to on the field. And in my opinion, that starts with offensive philosophy. If Cam Ward comes down just to have the same predictable playcalling, it won't matter.

It wont be same play calling and if it is we have a REAL QB who can throw, run SEE THE FIELD , and make the throw.. Tyler always had guys open but he olny had one tartet and thats Restrepo, we got more talent than restrepo, but he will keep the defense honest for sure .. he makes it so much easier for Miami and there is no reason why we cant go undefeated. But i will accept 10 wins and no less. Its TIME. Then we got another bad ass QB recruit, who will be in the top 10 QBs before next signing day! He is a stud and will definitely be a QB to take the reigns when necessary. As for Jacurri he is done and needs to transfer. We have a backup already, he would be 3rd string AT the best... Emory is better than Jacurri and proved it during his games.

It is funny how people only have an issue when Miami does the same thing as other schools. I am not a delusional Miami fan that thinks this move puts them in the playoffs, I think this will help Miami be a contender to get to the ACC championship game, anything else would be icing on the cake. I would love for Miami to win like they did in the past but that is the problem, we always talk about the past. Difference between Miami and A&M is they have no national championships. Miami has been three like 20 coaches since the 80s with 5 nattys. Miami is private university that since these last few years with Mario, the administration has never properly funded the program to get adequate coaching as well as upgrading the facilities, unlike that school in college station who has all the money/nil they could ever need. But some how in the words of a former a&m recruit on a visit, “I don’t see now football trophies.” When understand the context of what those past teams has been through and the give a damn from the administrators to actually put money into the program, you’ll understand why it’s a different hype, warranted or not.

Can we also not pretend that big time schools were doing this in other ways that smaller private universities couldn't keep up with? Schools like Alabama and Ohio State have enjoyed more funds to build facilities, expand stadiums, and of course hire coaches for years now. Building a good coaching room is definitely a work of skill, but it's also lately been a labor of writing checks. In 1998 the average coaches salary in D1A was just over $500,000. The top earners were Spurrier and Bowden and they were just cracking a million. Last year Alabama's outside linebacker's coach made more than that. Not their defensive coordinator (who was Kevin Steele and made just under $2 million himself) a single position coach. NCAA D1 football become a self-fulfilling prophecy and profit machine. Public schools with lots of resources could spend all the money they wanted to attract kids to their school by snatching up and consolidating all the best coaches, building all the best state of the art facilities, and investing money around the student athletes just on the boarder of actually paying them. This would then earn them great players who would win bowl games, earning the school a big bowl payday and likely help their conference earn a huge television contract (B1Gs $60 million per school guaranteed as an example). Teams like Alabama and Ohio State could therefore just snowball. I'm not going to take anything away from Saban as a genius of a coach, there are other large public universities that couldn't repeat his success. He was just able to stay on top longer because of this snowballing effect. I think even Saban realized that NIL and the modern landscape of college football was created in large part by the Alabama team he'd created. TV deals prior to NIL were already forcing conferences to consolidate and teams to jump ship. Coaches were similarly doing the same thing. NIL and transfer rules just allowed players to follow suit. Seeing how hectic and unstable all of this has been shouldn't be an indictment on these kids, but just reflecting the same behavior that schools and coaches were showing in this gold rush that is college athletics. ESPN and the SEC started this, NIL and transfers have helped level the playing field, and the ensuing chaos is just a direct result of the rampant and ridiculous amounts of cash that ESPN and SEC made the sport into.

@@alfredosenalle9284 Miami vs Georgia Tech is the most glaring example of poor coaching AND bad clock management. With 40 seconds to go and Miami leading, Mario chose to run the ball instead of taking a knee. Miami fumbled giving GT the ball back in Miami territory. GT scores a last second touchdown. Final score 23-20 Georgia Tech. Miami could have given up a safety and most likely won that game. Giving up 2 points is better than giving up 7 points 24/7/365.
