Technically it’s year 3 the first year he could have gutted the program like Deion but he gave everyone a fair chance to make the team. 3 All American freshman with ACC freshman defensive player of the year. Building a competitive program takes time and patience. He admitted to his mistakes and made adjustments & this will be a great season. Went & signed the #1 qb in the portal and now working on the #1 RB in the portal to improve the team. Go Canes!!!🙌

As of now 2 of the offensive starters would be transfers. Defense is much more unsettled, but I’d lean towards 6. Mario is going in his 3rd season. To say his blue chippers are leaving is factually untrue. To date only two players have left that would be a loss. Colbie young and Naj Kelly. Colbie was brought here by Mario and left to Ga for a bag. Kelly has great potential but is still recovering from surgery, tried to up his NIL at a position we Are very deep. Everyone else that Mario kindly has asked to leave, you probably couldn’t even name, as they have not gone on to do anything special under a different coach. Cute try though.

That being said, every one of those players gone, were asked to leave minus Kelly who likely could have stayed and competed. Miami wasn’t willing to up his NIL so he walked. Every coach is a salesman, The issue is getting the team your building to internalize and manifest the greatness the coach envisions consistently. Mario is genuine, total buy-in from top to bottom will establish the continuity and the winning ways again.
