Typical US household is 240V 200A service (main breaker). The average US household consumes 29kWh per day and has a continuous power of only a few thousand watts. In other words, our average home service is 48kW, but continuous use is far lower. Very few residences here have 3-phase power because the typical service is already way more than most people need. Large homes sometimes have 400A 240V service.

Thanks good to see some technical focused video on this interesting product. Can you confirm the MG currently supports bidirectional charging? If so is it just AC (3 kW V2L interface) or does it utilize DC (12 kW V2H/ V2G)?

Hi there. I'm wondering I it would be possible to position this product away from my main switchboard/existing Fronius solar inverter? I would like it positioned in my shed where I keep and charge my EV. I have a 32amp feed from my main switchboard to a switchboard in my shed already. I would like to be able to use the back up feature for my house and possibly the V2X from my EV. Thanks very much.

You could and it will back feed and supply the house as long as the grid is up. When you grid is down it won't back up the house. It can be done and there are some major upgrades. Feel free to call us on 0483927257 if your in Australia and want some advice.

Uk based here , I am going for all in one via 3 phase . Persuaded by what I’ve seen on you tube I am tempted to not have the two Tesla powerwall 2 (3 still not here yet ) and go for Sigen all in one being more modular at lower price point for a decent product . Their battery degradation is what I am uncertain of , the app looks good but not enough detail about to be sure completely. Thanks for info in vid .

Thank you. Yeah I wish this inveter had the ability to work with other battery technology. That to me would make it perfect. And have a look at the Noark range of inverters. They do a simple 3 phase option and have a much better user interface than the Dye and Sunsynk. And we are doing some fun stuff with them with wholesale energy prices form the grid in Australia. You can do the same in the UK..

I have two installations SolarEdge and Hoymiles. May i use Sigenergy as a retrofit for actual inverters which are not hybrids, for energy storage?

Yes you can. You can Ac couple. I would suggest if possible put a few extra panels into the Sig energy which will give you black start if the grid was ever down and your batteries were flat.

What is the breaker size for the 3phase gateway backup port and also I have seen that remote inverters can’t be on the backup port and should be on the smart port can you also have loads on that port as I have a 32kw pv and sma inverters at farm buildings 300m from where gateway would be installed?

I have my whole house backed up with a Sungrow SBR160 and S10RS. 63amp main breaker. No fire extinguishers in batts. LFP so hopefully safe enough. Can charge/discharge home battery at 10kw. I’m not that technical, but you seemed to underestimate Sungrow. I’m sure there are other advantages to Sigenergy bidirectional EV charging sounds awesome.

I excluded my EV circuit from home backup. Figured not a good idea to charge EV in a grid blackout.
