We take this stuff for granted, trusting without a second thought. Years ago, my former supervisor bought an inexpensive lock pick set and asked me to study it in order to open the lock of the plastic cover that restricts access to the air conditioning thermostat. Our office was freezing cold, and the maintenance department refused to change the setting. In a very short rime after studying the fundamentals, I managed to open the lock on the thermostat cover, as well as o3ir file cabinets and locks on the hutches of our desks. Eventually, I was able to fashion on the fly a set of picking tools by just using two paper clips, straightening one as the rake to manipulate the pins and fashioning the other as a rigid wrench to turn the cylinder. You are right about just feeling the tension of the pins with the rake. You can also hear the pins as you apply slight pressure. Slight movements, as you advise, make the process more easy.

Ignore the whiners. I've watched a very large number of lockpicking videos. You offer a unique perspective and ideas not discussed in other videos, like the differences in types of people who pick locks. You clearly know what you are doing but more you know how to teach. Some people want high production value free entertainment, and they're gonna whine on every channel because they can't be pleased. Your audience, the person who wants to learn the knowledge you offer because they are interested in the topic, will be delighted.

@FFVison4 жыл бұрын
Why would someone pick a lock to be locked? Sometimes, based on binding order and pin depths and perhaps other factors, picking to the locked position and then using a plug spinner may be far easier. Another thing that may cause issues is how the lock is oriented near the door frame and if the door frame gets in the way of the tensioning wrench.
