Jeb, I wish you would include the fare cost for all the seats you fly on. Yeah, we know you sometimes redeem rewards miles, and we know the cost varies based on when and how the flight is booked. But still, pick a date... two, three, four weeks in advance of the flight you plan to take, and look up the cash price for the cabin class you will sit in. I think we'd all appreciate that information!
@greenidguy9292 Жыл бұрын
He doesn’t because he doesn’t want us to know how much he is making off of us.
@TonyM132 Жыл бұрын
@@greenidguy9292 First of all, by Jeb just reporting the regular retail price of the seat at a certain time before the flight, we still wouldn't know how much he paid for it. He might have gotten a better deal, redeemed miles, etc. Secondly, even if he also told us how much he paid for seats, that doesn't indicate how much money he is making. He has other expenses besides airfare, and it says nothing about how much revenue he gets from KZbin. Third, he's not making money "off of us," as in out of viewers' pockets (unless you count patreons and channel members, but those folks obviously want to give him money). He is making money from advertising via KZbin. Why would any of his viewers begrudge him making money from advertising on his videos? That's what KZbinrs do. I'm sure most of Jeb's viewers want him to make good money. On the other hand, I can think of a couple angles related to what you wrote which might make some sense. Some viewers might feel something like "If he can afford tickets that expensive, then he must be making too much money." Whatever "too much money" is..? It might be that they don't feel they can relate to him as well, or that they are jealous of him because he can afford flights they cannot. Or, the high cost of an airfare might underscore the idea that extravagant accomodations on a flight are wasteful, when there are homeless people and hungry people across the USA and around the world. I have held that kind of opinion myself after watching some of these videos. Some other flight bloggers indicate how much airfares cost. And some others do not. I don't know the reason(s) why some choose not to. I would like Jeb to at least explain someday his reasons why he doesn't, if he won't.

Delta is one of the few airlines with crew that's licensed and capable of doing complete engine rebuilds. (Their A350 engines are inspected by turning the engine sideways and taken apart vertically versus horizontal.. it's better for the engine and for fitment.. the only problem is the size of the engine is bigger than their old doors...they had to make a new building!)

My wife and I did CHO-IAD-SFO-SYD on United Business First (pre-Polaris) back in Nov 2016 to visit her brother (Army Major) who was doing exchange duty with the ADF and I think, having experienced a 24 hour total flight+layovers as you did, that it is more preferable than an 20+ hour non-stop flight. Especially if you have lounge access that offers showers so you can truly refresh and not feel so grungy/grubby when you arrive after such a massive flight. I'm sure others will have opposite opinions but so long as both options exist, to each their own 🙂

The last time I flew to Australia was to watch my wife compete on one of the U.S. teams at the 2000 Sydney Games. The best part of the 36 hours of travel to get there from Greensboro NC was the arrival into Sydney. After looking out the window and seeing nothing for so long it was almost a shock to be flying over the inlet just as it was starting to be dusk. Flying past the famous Opera House and then making a slow turn over the Harbor Bridge and then right over the Olympic Stadium and seeing it all lit up and full of people with the flame burning just as it was getting to be full dark made it a very exciting arrival into Australia.

I think the choice of making a connection or not depends on what cabin I'm in. I really don't fancy a 20+hour flight in economy, or even in PE tbh. So in those cabins I'd rather make a connection halfway to get off and stretch my legs for a few hours. If I was in business or first though then I'd rather just do one long flight.
@johniii8147 Жыл бұрын
Even in the premium cabins I'll take the stop over. I wouldn't fly long haul in anything other than at least business. I'll stay home rather than subject myself to that torture. I actually quit a job over that issue with a change in travel policy that wanted me to go to India twice a month in economy. Yeah no. I just don't want to be on any plane longer than 12 hours or so. By about hour 12 I want off. Only adds 2-4 hours to a long journey which is really nothing on such long routing.
