No worries, the mundane routine does pass. This is the hard part. It’s nice that your parents live so close to help and guide you and Matt throught it. Make sure to get in the sun as much as you can. Helps with the mental side of things.

As hard as it is, it's so refreshing to see someone sharing the realness of it all! Especially the sleep deprivation and struggles 😅 our little girl HATED being on her back, and once she started rolling things got a little better and once she was in her own room finally started sleeping through the night. You guys are doing amazing!

You're both doing so great! 💜 I know the newborn sleep deprivation is tough, but it doesn't last forever, even though it feels like that at the time! I kind of miss those chilled breastfeeding-in-pyjamas days now that I'm chasing a three-year-old around the house 😂

Some tips from a first-time mom of a 6-month-old... Get yourself some blackout curtains for that nursery / office room. Once Elliott starts getting a little older he will be distracted by everything and you will want to make that room pitch black when he's sleeping. Baby tracker is the best app! I'm still using it 6 months later. Matt can download it also and you can link accounts so you both know what the other person has recorded. Girl, get yourself a breast pump that allows you to pump both sides at once! You'll be done in 15 minutes. Lol I'm pumping as I write this. These sleepless nights will pass. It will feel like forever but it should get better in another month or two. My son will be 6 months old tomorrow and he sleeps from 8:30-7:30 with no night feeds. I know this isn't the norm and we are lucky to have a great sleeper, but Elliott will start sleeping longer stretches soon. Good luck and give that cutie lots of snuggles!

Believe it or not, you will miss this dependency and intimacy with Elliott before you know it. Baby play and cuddles are beautiful. Try to make time to have proper little breaks from babycaring as soon as you feel ready. Even a couple of hours with other adults or out in nature can make a huge difference🙂

The fact that you make time to wear make up is a win! It's been years since I had a make up routine lol Hang in there, it gets better after about 4 months. Also, I noticed you are using a nipple shield, if you haven't already, try meeting with an out of hospital IBCLC. I wish I would've done that sooner into our breastfeeding journey, made a world of difference.

definitely, especially during pandemic times as you'll generally have more time to nuture with the child; but once the pandemic is over or at the very least somewhat back to normal you might not have as much of a time. i remember when i was a child, my parents would give me to a baby sitter or let my grandparents baby sat me. i'm so happy for them.

Lol this appeared in my recommended.. I had to laugh being a mum I soooo remmber how days and nights use to blend.. I am a night owl and my daughter inherited trait. In December she will be 30 and is married but 🤔 3am thinks nothing of phoning for a catch up as she is awake, knows I will be awake and come 08:00 we will both be duvet diving until midday. I was called in to get all my friends babies into sleep routine with 100% success but with my daughter no chance gene trait for night owl to strong. Cherish these days, even when exhausted as they are gone in blink of an eye and as they get older you then realise worry we all put our parents thro as we reached milestones going to school, Driving, dating, festivals, married lol from time we conceive the worry starts it just changes with what we worry about.. But worth it x

Wow so crazy how everyone’s routine is so different with a newborn. I never pumped or gave my daughter a bottle so I never needed to sterilize anything. And we stopped the whole waking up several times in the middle of the night to feed at 6 weeks. We just couldn’t take it anymore. She’s basically been sleeping through night since she was born So I always felt so bad waking her up to feed her. We never did the whole shift thing either as my husband went back to work After three weeks.

You guys are doing a great job. Just keep pushing through. The first bit of infancy is hard work. But you guys are definitely killing it. :) I remember how exhausting it was with our daughter 2 years ago. And our next little one is due in about 8 and a half weeks. So we are right behind you. 😂 It really helped us get our daughter back to sleep fast when we dream fed her and waited to change her diaper (unless it was a poopy diaper) in the morning when we all got up. Maybe that would help you too? 🤷‍♀️ Anyway. Eliot is adorable and you guys are doing great! 🥰

It's nice that you have time for your makeup! I only had 5 minutes for a shower because baby was just crying in daddy's arms. Breastfeeding in bed (and bedsharing) was a life saver for me. baby could sleep 12h with one or two dreamfeeds. Highly suggest, but I know it's not for everybody. If you want to bedshare, there is support groups to do it and stay safe. During the day, my daughter started to sleep on her own around 5 or 6 months old. It sounds long, but hang in there! (and of course it can change from baby to another). I'm happy for you that you have your parents so close! Good luck! After 6 months it's really easier!

Thank you for sharing! Now I don’t feel bad about how “unproductive” I was for the first basically 6 months of my son’s life. My son had Torticollus too, and what helped was: -Switching the side his head goes in his crib and bassinet, otherwise he’ll always stare out the same way -when I held him upright I’d put my cheek on the “favoured side” so he’d be forced to turn the other way if he wanted to look out -when on his back while changing diaper or playmat GENTLY hold his head on the side he should be working on more until ge got too fussy
