The DF30A is a fuel injection 4 stroke. The fuel going through the high pressure fuel pump keeps it cool. Very essential that at the end of the day that you do not try to run the carby dry because there is no carby in a fuel injection system and no fuel will overheat the high pressure pump. Flushing these motors with the hose inlet port is also insufficient for saltwater flushing as the motor cannot be run using this method. I found a noticeable buildup of gunk around the thermostat and on the exhaust manifold sacrificial anode ( under cowling internal) due to flushing without the motor running at operating speed. I have had issues with the small black plastic inline fuel filter just before the Hi pressure fuel pump, even a slight restriction to the pump flow will initiate a safety limp mode and the motor will not exceed 3000 rpm. As in the video , access the filter by removing the side cowling , there is a fuel drain valve just along from the filter to empty lines and the fuel pump. The filter is a v small gauze style sealed unit, I flush it in fresh fuel and blow it out with the air compressor. I really do not understand why it causes problems because it is never really dirty or compromised but it is very frustrating if you have a fair way to travel.

U said there is no evaporator tank on that 30 hp motor of yours there certainly is on mine and it works like the float bowl of a carburetor and it has a needle valve who’s tip can rust a bit and stick if water gets into the fuel which is what mine did

That is the typical setup, I haven't seen one like in the video before I made the video, usually there is always that vapor separator tank with a needle, seat and float. Glad you figured out what the problem was with your boat though!
