Thanks so much for the kind words! I'm thrilled you found the video helpful. 😊 Moving to a subtropical zone in Australia with two acres sounds like an amazing gardening adventure! 🌴🍋 Incorporating fruit trees and edibles is a fantastic idea - it's so rewarding to grow your own food. While we haven't done a specific video on subtropical edible landscaping, that's a great suggestion for future content. In the meantime, some plants that might work well in your new climate include: Citrus trees (lemons, limes, oranges) Tropical fruits like mangoes or papayas Herbs like lemongrass or Thai basil Vegetables like sweet potatoes or okra Remember to check local guidelines about what's suitable for your specific area in Australia. Would you be interested in a video about edible landscaping or subtropical gardening? Let us know - we love hearing what our viewers want to see! Good luck with your new garden. It sounds like it's going to be amazing! 💚

Barberry is highly invasive and prime tick habitat. Butterfly bush is also invasive in some zones.
@PlantDoHomeGarden8 ай бұрын
Thank you for highlighting these important points. Indeed, Barberry and Butterfly Bush can be invasive in certain areas and may not be the best choice for every garden, especially considering Barberry's association with tick habitats. It's crucial for gardeners to consider local environmental impacts and choose plants that are friendly to their specific ecosystems. Opting for native plants or seeking non-invasive alternatives can be a more sustainable choice. If you have suggestions for non-invasive plants that work well in your area, please share them with our community. Your input is invaluable in helping us all make more informed gardening decisions.

I did not know that about barberry. We have a few and just trim them back each fall.

@@catherineholmes2254 Birds snack on the fruits and deposit seeds in other areas away from the plant. That's how, in some areas, barberry shows up in forests and hedgerows where it overtakes native plants.

I guess that depends on region. My crimson pygmy barberry in 6a Northwest Indiana have always been restrained and tidy. My dogs have never had ticks.

@batlady2343 thankfully most commercially available barberries and butterfly bushes for sale now are sterile and therefore non-invasive. But people should be very careful!

Hello. I enjoyed your video. You stated Forsythia is hardy to Zone 10. I have tried to find one for Zone 10. I can't find one. Can you help? Please. Thank you.😇

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for your interest in Forsythia! It’s great for adding vibrant color to your garden. I apologize for the confusion, but Forsythia typically thrives best in Zones 5 through 8. It might struggle in the heat of Zone 10. However, if you are set on Forsythia, you might consider planting it in a shaded area or using a variety that is slightly more heat tolerant, though these can be hard to find. Alternatively, you could explore other vibrant, heat-tolerant plants like Lantana, Bougainvillea, or Hibiscus, which are beautiful and thrive in warmer zones. Hope this helps, and happy gardening! 🌼

All good except for daylily. Not on a small property. A cluster of daylily tends to look straggly and unkempt like a bad hair day. I think the public face of a home should be a little formal or at the least, neat and tidy. People can Indulge their whims and eccentricities in the more private family areas.

Why you have to disclose everything here in the senate?Philippines law is a joke. Sandro should have gone straight to file a court case. Ano ba purpose nang pagpunta sa senate? What is Nino Muhlach and his family going to gain from it? Na exposed lang. I don’t believe Sandro is going to use this to get fame. He is definitely telling the truth. It’s so unfortunate. I really hope this 2 gay men will get the right punishment.And Sandro will get justice…

These are mostly nonnative plants, many are invasives.

Thanks for the video. Most of these won't grow in 9B unless you have a shady yard. Boo hoo.
