For example, the myth that most U.S. bills contain cocaine is actually true. The myth that celery is a negative calorie food is also true. Have you heard the myth that crickets can tell you the temperature outside? Well, this is true as well. Once you read our list of these and other common myths you are going to learn how all these myths are possible, including the myth about the secret club inside Disneyland, snakes swimming up your toilet, the Pentagon’s zombie preparation, and more. Check out these 25 common myths you won’t believe are actually true.

Coca Cola was originally a headache remedy, not a soft drink. Perhaps you ought to mentioned that as well, since that is the reason very early coca cola had cocaine in it.

@V J The cocaine in Coca-Cola was removed either in the 1890s or early 1900s. Later, the government got on Coca-Cola for what ingredients went in to the making of Coke, and Coke responded by reducing the amount of caffiene in the drink. Coca leaves are still part of the ingredients for Coke, but the majority of the cocaine has been removed leaving only trace amounts of cocaine. Coca-Cola is the only company allowed to legally import coca leaves.

They tested all over the room from the remote to the toilet seat. There was uhhhh umm DNA everywhere including the walls and closets!!! I mean they can’t clean everything in the room, like the walls, but spray a little 409 on the remote!!!

constellations are for the most part named after greek mythology, almost all visible stars have all arab names, newly discovered celestial bodies are named according to a catalogue to simplify things, usually named after the project or the telescope used, so an astronomer knows the quadrant where to point his instruments just by knowing the name of the object he needs, while before, with star names, he had to check a star chart

A rather long comment as to #20. Due to nice coincidences, my life was saved at a teaching hospital - on a July 3rd. I had never been seriously ill before I got sick while at the store with my family and was confused, slurring my speech, and unable to walk straight. I seemed to be having a stroke so my family rushed me to the ER of one of the best hospitals in our city (a teaching hospital). No one in the ER knew exactly what was wrong with me because they ruled out a stroke. The admitted me to a room while they were trying to figure things out. A group of doctors (residents?) came around to see the other patient in the room and in the group was a particular new doctor (from resident) who had recently learned about Sarcoidosis in a seminar of some kind. The resident rushed to catch the visiting specialist who had conducted the seminar and was on his way to the airport to leave town. The specialist examined me and ordered a biopsy that found the sarc cells in my lungs. Treatment was started immediately instead of wasting more precious time. I mean it when I say that the resident saved my life - or at least more serious damage to my brain from the disease. That former resident became my primary care doctor. That was 8 years ago. I am still being treated for the sarc and it took me about 20 minutes to put this comment together, but I am better off than if anything had been different on that July 3rd.

I have met many smart Americans indeed, but sometimes it feels like the rest of the world knows more about the US than the Americans themselves. I'm not really sure where you draw the correlation between me saying that most of this is common knowledge to people living outside the US and the fact that people tends to migrate to the US, maybe it hurt your patriotic pride somehow, but rest assured, I will not migrate... my country has among the highest living standards in the world, I have absolutely no need to go there. @TheLincolnBlogs Are you not aware of the things that are common knowledge to your own countrymen? Cause then I suggest you get out more. The fact that this surprises you so speaks volumes, really. I never said directly that Americans are ignorant, but you are kind of confirming your own station here. More so for every message you write, really. I don't really understand where you are trying to get with your ridiculous counter-insults about missing diversity, though - the fact that the top countries on the list are more or less homogenous (homologous being the updated term, by the way) is fine by me. Uh, no. "Normal" water, if under constant extreme heat, will change to steam, and that can explode many things.

@@freedomrider266 steam can only "explode" if it is under pressure and is rapidly exposed to atmospheric pressure. Thats it. Steam expands at the rate of 26x that of water. Imagine 1 foot of water under say 100 psi. Now imagine that pipe bursts and in an instant that 1 cubic foot of water turns into 26 cubic feet of steam. It fucks some shit up. How do i know? Im a steam engineer my nigga ask me shit

You could have 2000000 degree heat source on water and it will literally do absolutly nothing except quickly evaporate. It will NEVER get above 212 degrees either.

What wasn't mainstream knowledge when I was a kid, was that they use cocaine for a lot of medicines. Lidocaine? Synthetic heroin or opium - morphine, oxycotin but Marijuana is bad. Its gotten better, most health care providers are informing people on the benefits of THC/CBD, but they are restricted to not advocating unless they want to join the THC/CBD initiative.
