@V J The cocaine in Coca-Cola was removed either in the 1890s or early 1900s. Later, the government got on Coca-Cola for what ingredients went in to the making of Coke, and Coke responded by reducing the amount of caffiene in the drink. Coca leaves are still part of the ingredients for Coke, but the majority of the cocaine has been removed leaving only trace amounts of cocaine. Coca-Cola is the only company allowed to legally import coca leaves.

A rather long comment as to #20. Due to nice coincidences, my life was saved at a teaching hospital - on a July 3rd. I had never been seriously ill before I got sick while at the store with my family and was confused, slurring my speech, and unable to walk straight. I seemed to be having a stroke so my family rushed me to the ER of one of the best hospitals in our city (a teaching hospital). No one in the ER knew exactly what was wrong with me because they ruled out a stroke. The admitted me to a room while they were trying to figure things out. A group of doctors (residents?) came around to see the other patient in the room and in the group was a particular new doctor (from resident) who had recently learned about Sarcoidosis in a seminar of some kind. The resident rushed to catch the visiting specialist who had conducted the seminar and was on his way to the airport to leave town. The specialist examined me and ordered a biopsy that found the sarc cells in my lungs. Treatment was started immediately instead of wasting more precious time. I mean it when I say that the resident saved my life - or at least more serious damage to my brain from the disease. That former resident became my primary care doctor. That was 8 years ago. I am still being treated for the sarc and it took me about 20 minutes to put this comment together, but I am better off than if anything had been different on that July 3rd.

Unlike the "negative calorie" celery, I've heard someone somewhere in my past say that pecans in the shell were "calorie neutral." That it took as many calories to shell them one at a time and eat as you go as they provide. I don't know whether the guy who told me this meant regular pecans or the taper-shell kind sometimes nick-named "paper shell" pecans.

A small number (1-2%) of monozygotic twins share the same placenta and amniotic sac. Fraternal twins each have their own placenta and own amniotic sac. I have met many smart Americans indeed, but sometimes it feels like the rest of the world knows more about the US than the Americans themselves. I'm not really sure where you draw the correlation between me saying that most of this is common knowledge to people living outside the US and the fact that people tends to migrate to the US, maybe it hurt your patriotic pride somehow, but rest assured, I will not migrate... my country has among the highest living standards in the world, I have absolutely no need to go there. Maybe on vacation, although I can think of a lot of better ways to spend my money.

@TheLincolnBlogs Well, what do you expect? A survey? I think it would be hard to find such a specific survey anywhere, and I have no idea what else you would want to see. @TheLincolnBlogs Are you not aware of the things that are common knowledge to your own countrymen? Cause then I suggest you get out more. The fact that this surprises you so speaks volumes, really. I never said directly that Americans are ignorant, but you are kind of confirming your own station here. More so for every message you write, really. I don't really understand where you are trying to get with your ridiculous counter-insults about missing diversity, though - the fact that the top countries on the list are more or less homogenous (homologous being the updated term, by the way) is fine by me. We have all the cultural diversity we need, and maybe even then some. After all, we're getting all the refugees that you guys are creating with your endless wars.

They called it "a physician weighted the human soul". Which is not true, since the soul (nor its weight) is proven to even exist let alone to be measurable. It is only true that he tried, but that is not the myth, the myth is that it is proven that the soul weighs 21grams. It would be just as you'd say "I jumped to the moon" is actually not the myth! Yeah, I just jumped 1 feet high, but I attempted to jump to the moon, so "I jumped to the moon" is not a myth.

Mistakes, might I add, that no-one with an _actual_ education in the classics should be making. It was not "most older cultures", it was the Greeks and the Romans. There are quite a few cultures other than those, many of which had no real influence from the Greeks or the Romans. We speak neither Latin nor Greek, and we do not call the Earth "Gaia" or "Terra"... outside of science fiction, anyways. We speak English, and the English name for the planet is "Earth". It's derived from the name of a giantess in Norse mythology (or the giantess was named for the word; etymology's funny that way).
