I can't believe i'm watching a gardening video when the wind chill has been around MINUS 20F here in Kansas! I have the same Felco pruners except mine are over 30 years old. They still work like new. Stay warm Jenn!

Jen good video; you covered all the bases. I planted my brassicas a couple of months ago. They're doing great considering that I lost quite a few do to the heat. the cauliflower variety I planted is called twister hybrid (purchased seed from Hoss) the leaves twist to protect the head from sun scalding. The are huge but I haven't seen any heads yet. There are two you tube channels I encourage you to view; The Rusted Gardener (the fifteen biggest mistakes gardeners make starting seeds indoors) a refresher course I won't hurt you to view it. the second one is Growing Your Greens (add this one thing to your seed starting mix for 92% longer roots). Both of these channels having been producing content for several years. I planted my lettuce seed (five varieties) last week and they are up already, also planted two varieties of spinach on is up already. My tomatoes age going gang busters(six varieties) lots of small tomatoes and blooms, don 't know if they will survive the cold though, it got down to 32 last night. Once again I would encourage you to install a couple of bird feeders and plant something beneficial to the wildlife. Finally (you thought I would never get here) your eyes looked really red except when you were indoors they looked great then. Thanks again for a really complete video you did cover all the bases.

Happy New Year! I’m gardening in the Houston area and I’m loving my winter garden. Temps have been mild & everything is thriving. The pepper varieties I’m starting indoors rite now are Red Ember cayenne, Hungarian Magyar paprika, Megatron jalapeno 😂 Anaheim chili & Yolo Wonder bell. And lots of herbs. I am trying purple basil this year which has sprouted alrdy & the color is so beautiful 🤩 I’m always looking for varieties that do well in the heat so thank you for sharing ur gardening info!

If you're in the Space Coast, then you should plant a mango tree where your palm trees are going to be moved. You can keep it small, and even have a couple of them there if you keep them trimmed and under 10 feet. Even a Mexican variety avocado would work well there. Hello from Lake Washington, Melbourne.

Love the idea of using the tougher leaves for powder❤❤❤❤

You may want to try Longevity Spinach (gynura procumbens). It's year round for me (Puerto Rico) but partially shaded. 4 of 6 cuttings that I bought through ebay survived; the 2 shaded ones are still doing awesome while the two in the full sun died. I planted them last March so they went through our summer - similar to yours. I have no idea what I am doing so they are great!!! I now learned that all "spring" planting guides for most YT channels really means October/November for me due to our climate.

It's going to be cold next week too. Low 30's here in Levy County.

garden and improvements looks good! Your seed starting setup looks nice too. Get some Christmas lights (not led ones) to put around your tomato plant and cover it for the cold blasts. It's been working for me these past couple of cold nights (I'm in 9b) and I'm even still getting some tomatoes and peppers in January yay!

Hey Jenn, so glad you're back. Was hoping U went somewhere nice for the holidays. Oh well. This video is nuts! So much in common its freaky! Felcos, lettuce, greenstalk/garden tower, tatsoi, golden beets, tomatoes, peppers, starting cucs next week, green onions, cilantro, started my freebie mesclun today. Really crazy! Almost like we collaborated. I've got Piracicaba and Artwork for broccoli. U bringing that fiddle fig in tonight? Gonna B cold

What a great gardening channel Jen! Nice to see someone doing a gardening channel here in the Space Coast. Keep up the great work! What are you using for a soil mix in most of your containers and raised beds? I have those same oval light green raised beds inside my pool area and love them.

Just discovering you! Based on your nematode comments, I think I've seen you in Jerra's classes LOL. I'm in Orlando and am a newer gardener. I got Artwork broccoli transplants and Twister cauliflower trans that are doing great so far. This is my first year growing either so fingers crossed. Since that area gets a lot of sun, it might be good for tomatoes or squash since they love the heat. (my dollar tree sugar snap peas are doing good as well)

Hi Jen, good video. You really have a flair for planting a good looking food garden. Good for you! Interested to see what you can do with the GT2. We, in 9b, have peppers and tomatoes galore going strong at about 8” tall, indoors. Some planted in October! We have Bounty Hybrid, Emerald Giant Bell, Jalapeno Hot and Cubanelle. For tomatoes, we have SunGold Hybrid Cherry, Sweet Million, Celebrity Plus Hybrid and Better Boy Hybrid and Everglade going. Also started from seeds, UC-157 asparagus and four varieties of sweet potatoes. I couldn’t find slips anywhere so went to Whole Foods and bought 4 spuds for $4.00, mostly for fun. Great if they produce. Will harvest the slips from them and do the water thing then transplant in my RKN infested soil. Anxious to move this stuff outside as garage space is filling up! How do you keep the animals off your veggies? I had to build a cage over my sweet potatoes. Stay warm!

Those are some monstrous turnips 🤣. I had the same experience with cucumbers, they all just died out of nowhere. I may try again this year along with watermelon.

Looks like we are doing some of the same verities. Already seeded inside, Carolina wonder and Charleston bell hear they both do really well in Florida. Hope so I love sweet peppers and this will be my first year trying them.

Hello neighbor, I live in Merritt Island. The Snap Pea variety I’m currently growing are Sugar Daddy and Sugar Magnolia. Thanks for the tip on the root knot nematodes resistant tomato variety, where did you purchase the seeds?

Homegrown Florida utuber is having great luck with Tall Telephone peas so I was going to try those here in my west coast central florida garden, just east of you, I believe. Do you grow paste tomatoes? I need a good local source. Im done with romas and san marzanos 👎🏻

Why do I always forget to fertilize? I heard you use the word fertilize and I wanted to run out but it’s 1030 at night. I’m going to have to wait till tomorrow.
