That prison break idea could be combined with the idea of the undefeatable enemy. The boss could be a large monster that acts as the prison warden. Link is unable to fight him off because he has to recover his gear. Once he recovers his gear at the end/exit of the prison dungeon, he's finally able to fight the prison warden (boss).

A note on the painting idea, having something like the different ‘rooms’ of the paintings linking up to each other depending on where they were hung up would be totally cool. The main mechanic of the dungeon would be returning to a hub room and rearranging the paintings to open/reach previously closed/inaccessible doors or potentially to create elemental reactions. Sticking the waterfall room above the lava room makes the previously inaccessible floor traversable because the water cooled it enough to walk across. Or a hole in the floor of one room can be positioned so that it is above an otherwise inaccessible walkway in a room below. Or just having to make sure that doors are actually lining up in order to move between one room and the next. Stuff like that.

I know I am way too late to all of these, but here is a VERY long explanation for my idea 😅 Dungeon: Lizalfos' Fortress Location: Faron Region This dungeon would be filled with Lizalfos, like the name suggests. The premise of the dungeon would be the fact (just like the start of the Vah Rudania Dungeon) that it has completely dark places. You would need a torch, and there would be special Lizalfos living in the shadows: Lizalphantos. They would have very low hitpoints but a very high damage rate. They would fight with rusty weapons and shields, and would have very fast speed and won't make Lizalfos sounds until Link approaches them. The dungeon would have a very claustrophobic feel, like the labyrinths. Very high walls, and maze like layouts. You could carry light with you (like in the temple of Ikana) and use it to burn away cobwebs. There would be a lot of platforming (similar to the dungeon from the Champion's Ballad where you have to run away from a giant moving spiked wall) and a little less puzzling. The walls could be made out of vines, making you able to climb any wall without losing stamina. There would be fake doors and pathways, until you reach the midway point. There, you would face Lizallord, or just Lord Lizalfo. Name: Lord Lizalfo Role: Mini Boss Weapon(s): Great Thunderblade Hitpoints: 450 (For example, the Blight Ganons have 800) Damage Per Swing: 32DPS (8 hearts) Arena Shape: dome, round This boss would be very slow, with great power. It would use 3 regular attacks: A simple left to right swing, a left to right swing followed up by a giant forward smash and a simple tail swipe like the regilar Lizalfos. It's special attacks would consist of: Casting Super Lighting into his sword, Just like with Thunderblight. However, instead of making him unparryable, he will now create shockwaves every 5 seconds when fighting Link. This will stay until Link knocks him to the floor. He will also spin his blade like the first boss of Crash Bandicoot (Big tribal guy 🤨). When killed, he drops a non existent weapon that would be exclusive from that boss: the Great Thunderblade+. The weapons does break, but it can be bought again from the salesman from Tarrey Town. After dethroning the king of the building, you will have to conquer even more dungeon just like the explanation before. After that, you face the final boss of the dungeon: the Decayed Goliath. Name: Decayed Goliath Role: Dungeon Boss Weapon(s): none Hitpoints: 850 Blast Damage: 24 (6 hearts) Claw damage: 48 (12 hearts 😳) The Goliath is a giant Guardian prototype. It attempted an attack on the Lizalfos' Fortress after the first calamity to take the dungeon item. The boss has 4 legs, rarely moving itself. It has 4 holes with large Guardian-like legs being tucked inside. The boss will sometimes shoot them at the player, making them stuck in the ground. Your job is to avoid and then climb the huge legs until you reach the top. From there, you have to hit its eyeball (no other area takes damage, and only elemental arrows have effect on the eye). It's other main attacks involve shooting a guardian laser, creating shockwaves by smashing a regular leg onto the ground while creating falling debris and similarly to the Major Strength Shrine Scouts, the Goliath will spin around while running at the player. Once defeated, you claim an item: the Zonai's Battle Axe. It is just a simple but deadly axe, that can be used to solve shrine quests. This was my stupidly long idea, and my computer is literally starting to lag because of the sheer size of the text box thing. I uhm, am just gonna click this away now. If anyone read this, you just wasted a LOT of time...

I'd love a fairy dungeon, that sounds amazing. Having Link dive into the fairy ponds in order to get to like an enchanted forest of some kind underneath Hyrule sounds not only gorgeous, but whimsical. (Also it could harken back to Fae lore where Fairies lured kids in in order to eat them or steal their souls, making it a time based dungeon.) But that's not my idea. I'd like to propose a dungeon in which challenges your memory of past Zelda titles. Nothing too elaborate to the point you'd have to replay all the games in order to get the reference or anything, but enough to where its like "Ah, I remember this from Skyward Sword". You'd be trapped within the confines of a dungeon that periodically shifts through time. (For example: If the dungeon was based on Hyrule castle, lets say every in game hour, the layout or parts of the castle would shift into different Hyrule castles throughout the games and if you just so happened to play the older games you could solve the puzzle faster or already know exactly what to do) I think it would be fun for older Zelda fans as a call back.
@ghostlyfae87212 жыл бұрын
If there were to be a fairy dungeon then Link would be screwed lol (considering that in fae lore, if you enter their realm and take their bait (such as eating their food) you'll be stuck there forever. And knowing Link in BotW to be quite the glutton, he would be imprisoned immediately. It'd also be intriguing to see the darker side/counterparts of LoZ fairies; including spiritual entities like Koroks, Blupees and the 'Lord of the Mountain' ( * w * )

I really want a dungeon where the boss becomes an ally/ friend rather than an enemy, even if they’re reluctant. I really hope that some of skyward swords dungeon concepts make some sort of return in BOTW2. Such as the different key types. Like with the boss key that has to be fit into the boss door in a specific way. Or the small door locks that has to be hit in certain directions to be opened. Skywards swords concept ideas are what makes it my favorite Zelda game. Good job on your progress by the way monster maze! I’m glad your channel made it this far! :)

I've written down some dungeon ideas while watching this. Like this comment if you enjoy them, and comment which one is your favorite! 1. A Mustafar-themed dungeon with constantly rising and erupting lava either being on a dungeon countdown a la Majora's Mask, or Link having to raise the lava himself to solve puzzles, keeping a feeling of tension and dread. 2. A dungeon themed around the concept of morality, having each room or floor based around a tough moral question that has no easy answer, similar to the Moon Children from Majora's Mask. 3. Like in the video, a Half-Life: Alyx-based puzzle where you avoid a single enemy for the entire dungeon. 4. Coming across the ruins of the Shadow Temple or discovering new rooms inside it that were originally hidden. 5. Using Link's new arm, he can travel through ceilings and stuff. What if, he can also use this ability to revisit other dimensions, like Termina, Lorule, or Hytopia? 6. A Zonai-based temple. 7. A collapsing ruin with constantly falling debris making up most of the hazards and the puzzles (maybe using Link's new time mechanic with his new arm?). 8. An underground cavern where you learn what happened after Skyward Sword (maybe this is where we reunite with Fi?). 9. A temple which functions as a shrine to Demise and his curse on Link and Zelda. 10. A dungeon implanted within Link's mind, like the Silent Realms or refighting the Blight Ganons. 11. A return to Arbiter's Grounds from Twilight Princess. 12. A temple under a freshly dried Zora's Domain, causing a drought. 13. A dungeon that has Link relive awesome, funny, terrifying, or heartbreaking events from the lives of previous Links (maybe how the Hero of the Skies founded Hyrule or finally wrapping up the story of the forgotten Hero of Time?) 14. A Sheikah-themed research vessel, similar to the Borealis from the Half-Life games. 15. A Portal-themed dungeon, maybe a test chamber with Sheikah aesthetic? 16. A dungeon that has you team up with Sidon, Teba, Riju, and Yunobo (NPC or playable) to get through the dungeon, ensuring that they stay for the sequel. Let me know what you guys think!

I like the idea of a clock tower going farther and farther into the sky, but what if it was the inverse; a deep pit and ruined staircase spiraling through the ground, and little prison cells with flickering candles lighting your descent into the darkness below. At the bottom of it, you'd find a spider or something to fight as the final boss.

You know, that's not far off from a dungeon idea i had: A huge underground cursed dungeon complex, built around a giant well

I like the idea. Tbh I'm scared of heights, I'm constantly anxious in those height based dungeons. But for some reason I love the reverse, the abyss, where you can't see what's infront of you.... Mysteries yet to be seen, Unknown dangers, I love it. Maybe there could be a night vision item you find there. Which could help you in certain places like overworld caves.

So I came up with 6 ideas of my own: 1. A dungeon constructed like Junji Ito's "Town without streets" in which, behind every door lies not a new room but a completely new house. The enemies here are the former residents of this town which have either been corrupted by a curse or have simply gone completely insane or both. This could mesh well with the town dungeon design while also adding a heap of horror to the game sort of like having the surface of OoT's Kakariko fused with it's underground and Ikana. It also kind of reminds me of Sekiro ... 2. A gigantic kitchen in which it is the goal to complete a specific dish using multiple ingredients found around the facility. A nice little callback to TP but the focus is shifted towards the cooking. The boss could be the head chef who is furious about you "stealing his glory" or the one you prepare the dish for who fights you for whatever reason. 3. The insides of a giant aquatic animal. While out at sea, on his way to something important to the story, a giant leviathan swallows Link whole. And this is not like Lord Jabu Jabu. The creature is acutally big enough to contain the entire anatomically correct dungeon with the boss being the creature that swallowed you in the first place, after you escape it. A combination of Lord Jabu Jabu, Morpheel and Tentalus if you will. 4. A giant rotting tree. A tree corrupted by darkness with mold and fungi around every corner. The very wood which makes it up has become hostile and evil. A combination of OoT's Great Deku Tree and Dark Souls's Curse Rotted Greatwood I imagine with a few elements of Resident Evil 7's mold monsters mixed in there. 5. A system of caves beneath an actual dungeon. While Link enters a dungeon something caused by the boss causes the ground beneath him to give way and he falls into a giant network of caves at the end of which he arrives at the room which was supposed to be the ending of the actual building. The boss could be a giant earthworn like Moldera from WW mixed with a Molgera from BOTW which dug the network in the first place or it could be a giant larval antlion or something similiar. After defeating the boss Link blows a hole through the back of the room which houses the stroy important element and after the entrance he just made promptly collapses again. Now the goal is to go through the origina dungeon *backwards* to get out again. And lastly 6. The grand Sheikah archives. A mixture between the already mentioned library dungeon and the divine beasts / shrines from BOTW. Showcasing the full knowlegde and might from the Sheikah 10.000 years ago. At the end you battle a massive automata in a Shadow of the Collossus type of way and disable / destroy the multiple weak points across it's body. After they are all destroyed and you think you did it and feel kinda underwhelmed the automata breaks open like a shell, revealing a mush smaller robot wielding a sword and shield. A hard boss battle ensues in which the robot uses very advanced swordsmanship, powerful Sheikah magic as well as all the runes from the Sheikah slate and more ! It would really show just how powerful this tribe was in their prime.

I have a couple of ideas surrounding dungeons based on deactivated forms of the divine beasts, referencing how at the True Ending of Breath of the Wild Zelda says that Vah Ruta has stopped working. Vah Ruta: You explore the remains of the beast half sunken into water and you have to drain or flood certain parts of it to solve puzzles, with the key dungeon item being something that lets you swim/breath underwater. Vah Naboris: The beast has been put in the middle of the Gerudo desert and has been partially covered and filled with sand, inside the dungeon you find and item like the gust bellows that lets you clear out the sand and explore farther, similar to what you did in the present day sections of the Sand-ship in Skyward Sword. The gust bellows item could also be used like you used the Korok Leaf in Breath of the Wild, letting you create gusts of wind to effect enemies or the environment. Vah Medow: You have to explore the remains of the beast as it still sits atop the Rito village. The beast has holes in its sides and floors that are letting air in and creating wind inside the dungeon that you must avoid. The key item in the dungeon would be the iron boots, which you could use to prevent being moved by wind. I could imagine this being a clothing item that you could equip at any time that has high defense but slows you down and makes you unable to jump/paraglide. Vah Rudania: In this dungeon you would have to explore Vah Rudania fallen into death mountain, floating on top of/sinking into the lava. The item of the dungeon would be the dragon flamethrower item seen in the trailer to Breath of the Wild 2, I imagine that the item would allow you to shoot both fire or ice depending n the situation, this would let you traverse Vah Rudania's lava-filled sections by freezing the lava and waking across. The dungeon could end with the beast sinking all the way into the lava with Link having to escape before it does, similar to the ending of the Sand-ship but replace the water with lava.

A Shattered Dungeon where it’s a reality trip that shows every version of Link and Zelda through out the series up to that point and some translucent monsters looking for you and will try to pull you into a different reality that would be a instant game over like a survival style dungeon.

One dungeon I've always thought of was a kitchen you can roam around when you shrink. You can enter cupboards, jars, boxes, or even a rat sewer entrance to make your way through the dungeon. And the boss for it could be a chef that's desperately trying to take you down for intervening with his cooking. And you try to dodge or even block that cleaver he swings at you

@@leviwarren6222 That's certainly MC Escher inspired, but the geometry is normal. I'm talking about the kind of puzzle it would be literally impossible to build in real 3D space. The Forest Temple in OoT toys with the idea with the rotating corridors and Phantom Ganon but I assume that's as far as they could go with the engine.

Hearing some of these ideas are really cool and made me think about merging some of them. Like take the dungeon where you're constantly stalked by the final boss and mix it with the prison dungeon where you don't have your items. You're essentially running away from the final boss because you have no items, except for one new item you acquired that can temporarily stun the boss and is required to be used to expose the boss' weak spot in the final battle when you acquire your items.

One idea for a stalker type boss for BOTW 2 could be a sort of giant Guardian that's been stitched together from other Guardian parts with Malice acting like a sort of glue. The dungeon itself could be a giant cave where the Guardian boss could be climbing around, looking through holes in the walls of the cave for any intruders. It could even be using its bigger feet to jump around and hang off the ceiling. The whole dungeon you would be sneaking around and avoiding the gaze of the guardian. If they did spot you they would immediately shoot a guardian laser.
@NekoFye3 жыл бұрын
Another Idea for the Town Dungeon could also be that the citizens are still around and possessed and you're not allowed to harm them. It's a unique challenge that comes with this type of dungeon.
@DarthNater2462 жыл бұрын
Or if they are harmed / killed they do not come back. The cured characters can help you with your missions (give clues), sell armor / equipment etc or aid you through out the game. It could give you multiple consequences while doing the dungeon. Kill everyone and it's a relatively easy dungeon, but it's harder later game. On the other hand, it's a hard dungeon being a pacifist, but everyone survives. Late game they help link to make things easier.

7:42 that, and less narrow hallways so the guardian could go more places than just that big open space
