25 Facts about Jake Muller

Resident Evil 6 provided us with a lot. Possibly too much. I want to return to this game and do a whole video on it but until then I thought we’d take a closer look at one of the new characters. I like to just skip right to it so I don’t waste your time and I don’t have anything clever to write here so without further adieu, from street fighter moves to piano prodigy, here are 25 facts about Jake Muller.

Characters that are paired up with the protagonist of each game usually do not make a return in a future titles, however, the reason why Jake didn’t make a return is most likely because the negative reception RE6 received. His secret ending made it very obvious that Capcom was planning to bring him back. It also didn’t help that most Resident Evil fans at the time hated him due to the fact he the only character in the game who can fight without guns.

As close as Nero's mother was to Vergil. Just joking. Just two seperate cases of CAPCOM writing shit stories and never elaborating on the details of them. It's especially weird for Devil May Cry, because mother characters are the most important in all of Kamiya-written games and are constantly elaborated on, taking central stage in everything that is happening.

@@weskers_sunglasses albeit I kinda overdid it with Kamiya’s stories always elaborating on mothers. Viewtiful Joe and Sol Cresta are more about fathers, rather then mothers. It’s parents in general. Only Okami doesn’t have much of a focus on parents, but rather those heroes who came before. Other then that - DMC, VJ, Okami, Bayonetta 1/2, The Wonderful 101, Sol Cresta - literally every game Kamiya wrote the story for have parental figures as central points of the story. It is ESPECIALLY crucial for The Wonderful 101, where parents’ demise is the single most motivational theme of actions of key figures in the story. Holy shit is TW101 absolutely amazing. Literally to a fault ! That ending, too ! 🫨 Kamiya made me a believer.

Next to Jakes mom William Berkin was probably one of weskers closest relationships. They started at umbrella around the same time. They killed together and shared research. Wesker probably didn’t consider him a friend but the closest thing he would have besides jakes mom

Jake has always been a fav of mine, he's like the chilled out Wesker complete with shades at the end of the game lol. I've been saying for years that Capcom should make Revelations 3 starring Jake and Sherry as their relationship was one of the few highlights of RE6, and I'd love to see more of it.

Because Jake is Wesker's son, Jake inherited Wesker intelligence but i think more advance than Wesker, maybe this explain why he can learn Mandarin in short period time and speak fluently and playing classical music that very complex

Hot Take?? I actually love RE6. I remember getting the Steelbook as a present on Xbox360 the year it came out and I think I played it on loop for nearly a year. Jake is really cool and I'd love to see him come back to the franchise someday. I really hoped his Secret Ending meant that he'd become the new primary protagonist for the Next game in the series at the time. Still super grateful for the two Ethan games we got though.

This is something I really wish they fleshed out in RE6. They had the opportunity to do so, especially after Chris admits to killing Wesker lol I am still mad at Capcom for fumbling the ball. But who knows if they'll elaborate in the future lol I don't think Jake will be very happy then lol

I’ve been waiting for this video for a long time! Jake is my 2nd favorite RE character and he’s so underrated. Here’s some other random facts about him - In the mobile game “Minna To Biohazard Team Survive” there was a version of Jake with Wesker’s powers and Wesker’s RE5 clothes - In concept art there were names for each campaign and Jake’s was called “Escape and Romance” - Jake was featured in a Resident Evil collaboration for a game called “Castle & Dragon” - It’s never confirmed but it’s implied Jake’s scar was from the solider that attacked him with a Knife in South America - Jake had his own drink called “Jake de Shake” at the Capcom Bar’s RE6 event. There was also a Jake can badge you could get randomly from ordering a drink from the event. - His Japanese VA is Daisuke Namikawa who is known for voicing Yu Narukami, Narciso Anasui, Hisoka Morow and many other famous anime characters.

Jake is my personal fav of the RE series, and that makes seeing Capcom forget all about him in games and animations (and even in that Netflix catastrophe that technicaly was about Wasker's children) hurt my heart a bit.

I think Jake's campaign is the best in RE6. Mainly because he and Sherry have such an soulful chemistry, considering both are the children of the most significant employees of Umbrella, Wesker and Birkin, and their campaign does decent job at balancing action and horror. In my opinion, RE6 should have been just about them.

We need to see jake again soon! Wtf is capcom doing when we litterly have WESKER's son roaming free in the world. He may not be his father but that doesn't mean that the world is just going to ignore it. Even if all the information about him was erased, there still might be some dangerous people who want to take advantage of his blood or DNA. They could easily make a new story worth playing or watching but they just keep ignoring them.

IMO jake has the highest ceiling out the good characters jake was only 19-20 years old in RE6. The crazy part about jake I don’t think he has unlocked his full abilities/powers yet that alone is scary.

Jake also shares a LOT of parallels with Nero from DMC's Nero. Superpowered offspring of villainous dads who themselves have to save the world who are more like anti-heroes at the start along with being deadpan snarkers and battle junkies. Oh, Jake is the only known case of a resident evil character with legitimately superhuman abilities who was born with them naturally. Sure they're a lower tier than Wesker's were, but there's no denying his superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and reflexes... to say nothing of his intelligence. I mean, the guy was able to learn Chinese just from listening to it.... in bits and pieces. also, let's not forget he beat down the Ustanak in a one on one fight. Say what you want, and I blame the game for giving us too damn much, but the Ustanak was honestly really damn impressive. Human level intelligence, nigh invulnerable, can use heavy weapons, won't stop until it's either dead or complete its mission, and out does either Nemesis or Mr. X by sheer virtue of chasing you across whole countries. International borders don't mean shit to a beast that is pretty much the peak of stalker monster. Oh, and he was so damn well designed as a Bow that he doesn't even mutate once in the whole game despite the C-virus being notoriously unpredictable and random. Honestly, if this thing had been unleashed on Jill and Leon back during RE2, I honestly don't think either of them would've have survived for too long since well, it can plan and is also just as ridiculously tough as either Mr. X or Nemesis.... Honestly? I'd would've put a lot of money into developing more of those and less mutate happy J'avo to put onto the weapons market... Imagine jsut 2 or 3 Ustanaks running around a battlefield with their heavy machine guns supported by armoerd J'avo troops... Toss in a few tweaked Hunters and damn... end of the world.

I'll be one of the few to say it. I don't get why people hate Jake. Should he have been introduced in a better game with better writing? maybe, but he is still a fun written character. nothing to hate other than a fanboy saying, "BUT HE ISNT WESKER". I really never found anybody ever really give this character a chance and thats what's sad, because since the game was so universally hated, I don't think we will EVER see Jake in a future installment.

Resident Evil 6 was all about interesting dynamics. You had Chris and Piers, with Chris taking on the captain role instead of rookie. Trying to save Piers in the end unlike Wesker who tried to kill Chris. Then you have Sherry and Jake, with Sherry being a helpless victim in the Raccoon City incident and going on to be one of the only people ABLE to save the world. How she and Jake team up how their fathers, William and Wesker did, not to harm the world, but to help it. Jake wound up being the exact opposite of Wesker.

Sorry, a bit of a side track about the recent Hollywood strike. I had an experience with Motion Capture and voice acting and have to say even though gaming industry is a colossus these days, voice over actors and mo cap performers are not fully considered 'equal' talent as traditional actors. What's really interesting right now is that the mainstream, 'regular' actors demand royalties for their digital likeness when it's used on new projects they are not technically involved with. Something MoCap actors could relate to...I guess the movie studios figured that their 'creative accounting' and sometimes cruel contracts/ NDA's would go unnoticed into this new era of streaming. They were wrong, preparation is everything and they were completely ill prepared for this new platform of entertainment. PS. You almost saw me as Leon in the new Resident Evil games :)

Having bought and worn a mocap suit, I agree. It's definitely a skill and without those skills... it's just a suit. In Tomb Raider Underworld it took three mocap actors to cover all of Lara Crofts moves and abilities! I wonder if the attitude is similar towards stuntmen?

@@InkRibbon That is a very good point. Thank you for this feedback. A motion capture session these days is very demanding. I could compare it to a traditional theater; a performer has to create most of the surroundings in mind as well as react in real time to the plot and exposition.

Jake has always been an interesting character to me.. His genetic makeup is unique.. The way he took on Ustanak makes me think that he took on the attributes of the c virus injection. Without the defects , enhancing him... Let's be real a mere human stands no chance against an Tyrant of any type.. While not on his father's level.. due to his "grooming" while growing up in the Wesker Project.. Him being bred to solely bond with the unique injection of a certain virus himself.. Jakes genetic makeup has the ability to involve the virus from within to receive a DemiGod esque boost.. From certain viruses.. Ethier that or they just made him Devil May Cry levels of cool on purpose.. Because he was Wesker's son..

Height's always very in Resident Evil always change. Wesker for example was listed as 6'0 then 6'3 in RE5.
